NY Philharmonic's 'Insights Series' Now Free; 2013-14 Lineup Announced

Beginning with the 2013-14 season, the New York Philharmonic's Insights Series - in which artists and experts will explore some of the season's themes and concerts - will now be free, and take place at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center. This season's events will include discussions with Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow during his farewell season (October 23); composer-conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen and violinist Leila Josefowicz (October 28), who will discuss Mr. Salonen's Violin Concerto, written for Ms. Josefowicz (which they will perform with the Philharmonic in its New York Concert Premiere, October 30-November 5); Music Director Alan Gilbert and Executive Director Matthew VanBesien on the state of the Philharmonic (March 3, 2014); The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Yefim Bronfman (May 20, 2014), who will talk about Beethoven's piano concertos (which he will perform during The Beethoven Piano Concertos: A Philharmonic Festival, June 11-28, 2014); and discussions relating to the NY PHIL BIENNIAL, the details of which will be announced at a later date.

Buddy Guy Releases New Album Today

Blues guitarist and singer Buddy Guy, 76, will release a double-disc album, Rhythm & Blues, today, July 30, which will feature notable guests such as Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.

B.B. King returns to Morris Performing Arts Center Sunday, October 6

The legendary 'King of The Blues' and beloved American icon B.B. King returns to the historic Morris Performing Arts Center in South Bend, Indiana, for a Sunday, October 6, performance at 7:30 p.m. Born on a cotton plantation in rural Mississippi in September of 1925, B.B. King will be 88 years old when he returns to the Morris with his trusty guitar "Lucille."

Rival Sons to Perform Acoustic Set on AXS-TV Today

Maximum-blues-infused, hard rock band Rival Sons will perform two songs acoustically Wednesday, May 15 at 7:00 PM PT live on AXS-TV: singer Jay Buchanan and guitarist Scott Holiday will do “Keep On Swinging”--the first single from their acclaimed current album Head Down--as well as “Burn Down Los Angeles” from their 2011 album Pressure and Time.

RIVAL SONS Return to North America For Additional Tour Dates

Tickets for the 2013 summer season at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts are on sale to the public beginning Friday, May 3. The lineup consists of a diverse collection of headliners from time-honored country artists to jazz legends and sports icons.
