FST Improv returns for another season beginning January 24 through April 2014, with performances each week Thursday through Sunday. Three hilarious shows will be performed in the brand new Bowne's Lab, the new home of FST Improv.

The newest show in the Walnut Street Theatre's Independent Studio on 3 is SOPHIE TUCKER: THE LAST OF THE RED HOT MAMAS. On a basic level, the show is a musical revue, but it is so much more than that. The show features songs sung by Sophie Tucker, but it will make you laugh, warm your heart, and make you want to learn more about Sophie Tucker. SOPHIE TUCKER at the Walnut Street Theatre will delight audiences with her unique act and bold voice.

Walnut Street Theatre's 2013-2014 Independence Studio on 3 season opens with a bang as the 'first broad' of American Theatre takes the stage in Sophie Tucker: The Last of the Red Hot Mamas. Directed by Richard Hopkins, who is a co-creator of the show, the production opens tonight, November 21st and continues through December 29th in the Walnut's Independence Studio on 3. Florida Studio Theatre presents an exciting 13-14 Cabaret Season starting with THE PRIMA DONNETTES, the inaugural production of a brand new musical revue called POEMS, PRAYERS AND PROMISES and rounding out the season with the musical stories of Cole Porter in TOO DARN HOT.

Kicking off the Cabaret season at FST is THE PRIMA DONNETTES, developed by FST Artistic Director Richard Hopkins and Jim Prosser. It will open in Florida Studio Theatre's John C. After a laughter-filled hit winter season, FST Improv returns for a special spring fling run of "April Fools." This hilarious series will feature a no fools barred smack down, culminating in the crowning of the "fool of fools." The comedy begins on Saturday, April 13th for a limited engagement continuing Fridays and Saturdays April 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 8:30 pm in the new John C. Court Cabaret.

Due to a successful opening, the FST Improv troupe will continue to bring on the laughter with two additional performances on Friday, February 8 and Friday, February 15 at 8:30pm. Florida State Theatre will be moving 'Shake Rattle & Roll' into the Gompertz theatre to allow it a 2-week extension. It ends performances in the Cabaret on March 25, 2012, and will continue from March 27 - April 7 in the Gompertz.
