When college separated them, history couldn't overcome geography. After meeting years later, Joe comes up with an elaborate scheme to get Lacey back. A coming of age story featuring the music of Burt Bacharach as the soundtrack of generations, featuring songs such as "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head," "I Say A Little Prayer," and "Wishin' and Hopin'." Older Than Dirt brings back the wacky writers of Laughing Matters combined with some of the funniest songs ever written on aging. We invite you to join us for the 2nd Annual BACK LOT BBQ Fundraiser at Florida Studio Theatre. The evening will feature smoked BBQ with all the fixins' from Sarasota-favorite, Nancy Krohngold, owner of Nancy 's BBQ. This summer, FST will welcome back favorite artists as well as some new performers through its three Mainstage productions, three Cabaret productions, a whole summer of FST Improv, as well as the 9th Annual Sarasota Improv Festival! Funds raised from this exciting and tasty event will support FST's Summer programming and operations.

The evening starts at 6:00pm in the FST back lot. Join us as we dine together in the Goldstein Cabaret with live music! Tickets are $100 per person.

Adult Education classes for Summer begin the week of June 5.
Featured classes include:

Flying Solo

Create and perform an original one-person show! You will be guided in the creation and development of sketches and stories based on prompts, group exercises, and improvisation. You will then create a draft of a 5-minute scene of a one-person show built out of those sketches and stories, and also receive acting instruction to polish your presentation in the culminating Showcase. Intro to Improvisation (Level 1)

Discover the freedom of spontaneity! The launching ground for developing Improv performance skills, Intro to Improv allows students to explore creativity, hone presentation skills, and build self-confidence. Musical Improvisation

Learn the basic concepts and tools to make up songs on the spot. In this high-energy class, students will participate in exercises that encourage you to think on your feet and in verse, as well as understand the mechanics of creating songs.
