Strathmore Cancels Feb 5. 'Luck Be A Lady' Concert Due to Storm Watch

According to their website, the Music Center at Strathmore has canceled 'Luck Be A Lady,' a concert that was to be held Friday, February 5th at 8pm. Scheduled to perform were Julia Murney, Emily Skinner, Rachel York and Jim Caruso. The reason for the cancellation is a snow storm weather advisory. The concert was supposed to be a celebration of the center's fifth anniversary and would have featured the best of Broadway, including songs by Sondheim ('No One Is Alone'), Kander & Ebb ('Ring Them Bells,' 'Maybe This Time') and some of the Great White Way's biggest hits ('Maria,' 'Defying Gravity,' 'Don't Rain on My Parade').

It's a highlight of every winter, a celebration of the best entertainment in New York's nightlife scene. Combining jazz, comedy and cabaret, the annual Nightlife Awards famously eschew acceptance speeches in favor of performances, becoming a sampler of numerous artforms and introducing new artists to fans of different genres. Last Monday, some of the most gifted entertainers in all of these different subsets of nightlife took to the Town Hall stage for the seventh annual Nightlife Awards, with winners both past and present (and some other assorted guests) making some amazing music.

Kate Baldwin, the star of Broadway's Finians Rainbow, will sing songs from her bestselling PS Classics release 'Let's See What Happens' in concert at Birdland on Monday, March 8 at 7pm. This concert is part of the long-running Broadway at Birdland concert series, presented by Jim Caruso. Material will include 'Moments Like This,' 'Come Back To Me,' and 'How Are Things In Glocca Morra?'

This week, January 25, stars celebrated the winners of the 2010 Nightlife Awards at The Town Hall.
