Artists Rep will present The Playboy of the Western World by J.M Synge, from May 20 through June 22, as the final show of the 14/15 season. Damaso Rodriguez, Artists Rep's Artistic Director, will direct this riotous and raucous production that features a stellar 11-person cast including Portland talent Chris Murray, Amy Newman, Allen Nause, Isaac Lamb, Michael Mendelson, Bill Geisslinger and Los Angeles' Jill Van Velzer.

San Diego Musical Theatre wins awards, for their 2013 Season of Musicals, at the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle 12th Annual Craig Noel Awards on February 10th, 2014 at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in La Jolla among 500 San Diego theatre industry members and supporters. The romantic comedy Parfumerie, adapted by E.P. Dowdall from the Hungarian play Illatszertar by Miklos Laszlo, will have a rare revival as the first theater production of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (Lou Moore, Executive Director), for a limited, 29 performance engagement November 26 to December 22. The production, directed by Mark Brokaw, who is currently represented on Broadway with Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, centers on a romance that unfolds through love letters, a perfect homage to the historic Beverly Hills Post Office. Funny Girl is a musical with a book by Isobel Lennart, music by Jule Styne, and lyrics by Bob Merrill. The semi-biographical plot is based on the life and career of Broadway, film star and comedienne Fanny Briceand her stormy relationship with entrepreneur and gambler Nick Arnstein. Its original title was My Man.

KISS ME, KATE, the Broadway classic opened last week at the Gretna Playhouse. This production dazzles audiences with its strong dancing and singing. It will have audience members tapping their feet with its memorable score as well as being entertained by the stories of the characters in the show.
