World Premiere Play T Opens Tonight at American Theater Company

American Theater Company (ATC) opens the world premiere of Dan Aibel's T. tonight, Thursday, May 25. The competitive ice skating saga is directed by Margot Bordelon and features Guy Massey (Al), Leah Raidt (T.), ensemble member Tyler Ravelson (Jeff), Kelli Simpkins (Joanne) and Nate Whelden (Shawn).

The American Theatre Wing nominated two plays commissioned by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for 2017 Tony Awards today, including Best Play. Commissioned through OSF's American Revolutions: The United States History Cycle, Sweat by Lynn Nottage and Indecent by Paula Vogel each received three nominations.

World Premiere of 'T.', About Kerrigan/Harding Ice Skating Saga, Finds Cast at ATC

American Theater Company (ATC) concludes its Season 32 with the world premiere of Dan Aibel's T., an exploration of the competitive ice skating saga between Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding. Margot Bordelon directs a cast featuring Guy Massey (Al), Leah Raidt (T.), ensemble member Tyler Ravelson (Jeff), Kelli Simpkins (Joanne) and Nate Whelden (Shawn). T. runs from May 18-June 25, 2017 (press opening: Monday, May 22).

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will present the world premiere of Hannah and the Dread Gazebo by Jiehae Park, directed by Chay Yew, on April 2 in the Thomas Theatre. Preview performances are March 29, 31 and April 1.

McCarter Theatre Center is a recipient of an Art Works grant of $35,000 to aupport the McCarter LAB, a year-round creative incubator that provides key support to writers at all stages of their careers, cultivating meaningful artistic relationships and original works for McCarter's main stages and future co-productions. National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $30 million in grants as part of the NEA's first major 2017 funding announcement.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival wrapped up the 2016 season on October 30 with the final performances of Great Expectations, Richard II, Twelfth Night and The Yeomen of the Guard. Preparations for the 2017 season and 2017 member ticket sales are already underway. The 2017 opening weekend is February 24-26; preview performances begin February 17.
