NELL GWYNN By Jessica Swale Makes Its Sydney Premiere

London, 1660. King Charles II has exploded onto the scene with a love of all things loud, extravagant and sexy. And at Drury Lane, a young Nell Gwynn is causing stirrings amongst the theatregoers.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces the cast for the North American premiere of Jessica Swale's exuberant new comedy Nell Gwynn, September 20-November 4, 2018. The music- and dance-filled play took London audiences by storm when it debuted at Shakespeare's Globe, followed by a celebrated run on the West End. Director of the original London production, Christopher Luscombe, helms the new Chicago Shakespeare production. Star of Broadway and the West End Scarlett Strallen appears as Nell; Chicago leading actor Timothy Edward Kane performs the role of King Charles II.

True to its mission, Synchronicity Theatre's 2018-2019 season will feature the voices of women playwrights and provide new opportunities to uplift the voices of women and girls. Children's Touring Partnership and Royal & Derngate, Northampton are delighted to announce a new adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's family classic, "THE JUNGLE BOOK". The production will premiere at Royal & Derngate, Northampton fromTuesday 28 November until Sunday 31 December 2017 and will then embark on a UK national tour from Thursday 25 January 2018 beginning at Chichester Festival Theatre.
