The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre & Children's Theatre has launched www.famousinfrederick.com. The new site will include a collection of photographs of Way Off Broadway performers, associates, and guests as they travel the globe. Some on national tours, others simply visiting fun locations while on vacation. Making all of these people Famous in Frederick is their official "Famous in Frederick" branded shirt.

Part of the BBC Proms 2012 series from Royal Albert Hall in London, John Wilson conducted the John Wilson Orchestra and Maida Vale Singers in MAME by Jerry Herman, with featured soloists Sierra Boggess, Anna-Jane Casey, Rodney Earl Clarke, Elizabeth Llewellyn, Seth MacFarlane and Julian Ovenden. The Music Man boasts the largest cast Way Off Broadway has ever had on its stage for a single production - half of which are making their Way Off Broadway debut!

Today in 1983, La Cage Aux Folles opened at the Palace Theatre, where it ran for 1761 performances. With a book by Harvey Fierstein and lyrics and music by Jerry Herman, it is based on the 1973 French play of the same name by Jean Poiret. The original 1983 Broadway production received nine nominations for Tony Awards and won six, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. The success of the musical spawned a West End production and several international runs. The 2004 Broadway revival won the Tony Award for Best Revival, the 2008 London revival garnered the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival. The 2010 Broadway revival was nominated for eleven Tony Awards, winning the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. La Cage aux Folles is the only musical which has won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical twice and the only show that has won a Best Production Tony Award (Best Musical or Best Revival of a Musical) for each of its Broadway productions.

At this time, Goodspeed Musicals regrets to inform you that, due to her recent injuries on the set of "The Good Wife," Kristin Chenoweth will not be able to attend their gala, as she is at home recuperating. However, the show will go on as planned, with Broadway, film, and television star Alan Cumming accepting the award in her absence and a Special Tribute Performance by Tony- and Grammy-nominated composer Andrew Lippa. They will be joined by Goodspeed alums Kirsten Wyatt (Gooch in Goodspeed's Mame) and Khris Lewin (Goodspeed's My One and Only.)

She returns to The Art House by popular demand this summer tonight, August 7th and tomorrow night, August 8th at 7:00 PM featuring Billy Stritch on the piano.
