Winnie the Pooh, one of the most popular children's characters of all time, has made his home at the Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre this fall with the theatre's production of Disney's Winnie the Pooh. Today, September 26th, Pooh and his friends will be venturing from Way Off Broadway to the Frederick Library for its 11:00 a.m. story time.

Tony Award-winner Scarlett Johansson returns to Broadway to star as Maggie, with Ciaran Hinds as Big Daddy, Benjamin Walker as Brick and Tony and Emmy Award-winner Debra Monk as Big Mama in Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning classic CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF. Directed by Tony and Emmy Award-winner Rob Ashford, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF will begin preview performances Tuesday, December 18 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). Opening night is Thursday, January 17.

The York Theatre Company will honor legendary Broadway Music Director and Conductor Paul Gemignani with the Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre at the 21st Annual Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala to be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at The Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today Broadway star and multiple time Tony Award and Drama Desk nominee Kelli O'Hara will be honored for her work in the theater at the NYMF 2012 Annual Gala taking place on Sunday, November 11th at The Hudson Theatre (145 W. 44th Street) beginning at 6:00pm. Kelli is currently starring on Broadway in Nice Work If You Can Get It, and was seen on Broadway in South Pacific, The Pajama Game, The Light In The Piazza and many others.

The REP, Point Park University's professional theatre company, presents a chilling rendition of Rope by Patrick Hamilton at the Pittsburgh Playhouse Sept. 28 - Oct. 14; guest artist Elmore James directs.

Surfside Players is proud to announce their events in September! First they will present the satirical farce, THE MUSICAL COMEDY MURDERS OF 1940, by John Bishop. This American classic tickled every gay bone in my body!

Award-winning actress Janie Dee returns to Curve to play the title role in Artistic Director Paul Kerryson's production of Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman's Hello, Dolly! This production reunites Dee and Kerryson following their collaboration on The King and I in 2010. The production opens on Wednesday 5 December, with previews from 30 November, and runs until 12 January 2013.

When The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's fall production of the classic Broadway musical The Music Man opens tonight, September 7th, it will bring together a cast of old friends and new faces. The Music Man boasts the largest cast Way Off Broadway has ever had on its stage for a single production - half of which are making their Way Off Broadway debut!

Meredith Willson's The Music Man will play the Frederick City venue beginning tonight, September 7th.

As part of the Brigham Young University Performing Arts Series, Mandy Patinkin performed 'Dress Casual' to capacity audiences Aug. 31-Sept. 1 in Provo, Utah. And concertgoers roared their delight at his performance.

Celebrated vocal coach Michael Maresca and choreographer Cassie Abate join the musical theatre faculty at Texas State University. Maresca will head musical theater voice and Abate will be the head of musical theatre dance. Texas State's musical theatre program has risen to national prominence since Broadway veteran Kaitlin Hopkins took the helm in the fall of 2009.
