Four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein was featured today, Wednesday, March 16 on 'The Today Show' during the 10:00-11:00 AM hour. Fierstein won a 1984 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical for the original production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. Now, 28 years later, he is starring as Albin in the Tony Award-winning revival of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street). Two-time Tony Award-nominee Christopher Sieber (Monty Python's Spamalot, Shrek The Musical) will begin performances as Georges in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES earlier than previously announced. Sieber will begin performances in the Tony Award-winning musical revival this Friday, March 11, instead of Tuesday, March 15. Sieber stars sopposite four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein as Albin. LA CAGE AUX FOLLES is playing at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street).

The New York Times reports today that following his stint in DRIVING MISS DAISY, James Earl Jones will be hanging around Broadway a bit longer, assuming the role of Arthur Hockstader in the revival of Gore Vidal's 'The Best Man.' The production is scheduled to open in the spring of 2012. Orphan's Home Cycle director Michael Wilson will helm the revival. The plot centers around chief executive Hockstader trying to decide which presidental nominees to support: William Russell and Joe Cantwell.

The Public Theater's acclaimed production of THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, starring Al Pacino as Shylock and Lily Rabe as Portia, will conclude its successful Broadway run on Sunday, February 20 at the Broadhurst Theatre. The critically lauded production began at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park last summer and officially opened on Broadway on November 13. It recouped its capitalization after only 10 weeks and will be making its first profit distribution to investors next week.
