Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to announce the premiere of Broadway's most talked about new musical and the biggest Tony Award-winner in years! SPRING AWAKENING, the eight-time Tony Award winning Broadway musical, will play a limited engagement in Chicago next summer, August 4 - 16, 2009. Chicagoans can get a free 'taste' of the production when SPRING AWAKENING cast members perform at the upcoming Broadway In Chicago Concert in the Park Monday, June 30, 2008 during the city's legendary Taste of Chicago festival.

Last night the 2008 Tony Awards took place at Radio City Music Hall. After the lucky and talented winners gave their speeches to the crowd, they moved onto the press room where they were able to show off their new awards and speak some more about their gratitude.

Rondi Reed has been a Steppenwolf member since 1979, and has appeared in over 60 Steppenwolf productions. Rondi most recently appeared and to great acclaim at that, as Madame Morrible in the Chicago production of Wicked, proving she can do just about anything on a stage! Her many Broadway credits include The Grapes of Wrath, Rise and Fall of Little Voice and of course her current Best Featured Actress in a Play Tony nominated role of Mattie Fae Aiken in Tracy Lett's August: Osage County. We caught with up her at the Tony Nominee's Brunch where she discussed the play and its journey from Chicago to Broadway.

MCC Theater annual gala, Miscast, was held Monday, March 10, 2008 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues). Miscast 2008 brought together the best and brightest Broadway talent as they performed songs from roles in which they would never be cast. Lynn Redgrave, currently in MCC's production of Grace, will served as the evening's Honorary Chair. Broadway's Phil Reno provided musical direction.

'August: Osage County' Extends 3 Weeks to Recoup Strike Loss

Steppenwolf Theatre Company today announced plans to extend its New York production of August: Osage County by three weeks to help recover lost dates from the strike by Local One stagehands. The ongoing strike has prompted August: Osage County to indefinitely postpone its November 20, 2007 opening at the Imperial Theatre. The added performances will extend August's Broadway run through March 9, 2008.
