To life! The Broadway revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is currently in previews, with an official opening slated for Sunday, December 20 at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway). FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, who most recently helmed the 2015 Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of The King and I. Sher has directed Burstein on Broadway in the revivals of Golden Boy and South Pacific, as well as in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. It will be choreographed byHofesh Shechter, inspired by the original choreography of Jerome Robbins, and the music director will be Ted Sperling (The King and I, South Pacific). Just in time for Christmas, all tickets to the upcoming Melbourne season of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF starring Anthony Warlow will be released with presales commencing today and general public tickets available on Monday at 9am. This brand new production of one of the world's greatest musicals, opens at Melbourne's Princess Theatre on December 29th with tickets now available until the final performance 27th February 2016.

As millions of the faithful around the world light the last candles of their menorahs, we take a look at a handful of musical moments that have a decidedly Jewish flair. On the last night of Hanukkah, we want to celebrate some of our favorite Broadway tunes about the faith while honoring the contributions of our immensely talented Jewish legends who have helped mold the American musical into what it is today. The new Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof is got into the holiday spirit by celebrating the first night of Chanukah on Sunday at DOROT on Upper East Side. DOROT, an innovative leader in mobilizing volunteers of all ages to improve the lives and health of the elderly, welcomed members of the Fiddler cast to perform 'If I Were a Rich Man' and 'Sunrise, Sunset' and visit with the seniors. BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Byron Jennings (Maraczek) will star alongside Laura Benanti (Amalia), Zachary Levi (Georg), Gavin Creel (Kodaly), Michael McGrath (Sipos) and Jane Krakowski (Ilona) in Roundabout's new Broadway production of She Loves Me, directed by Scott Ellis, choreographed by Warren Carlyle with musical direction by Paul Gemignani. This classic musical comedy features a book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock. Jennings replaces the previously announced Rene Auberjonois in the role.
