Each June, the Broadway season comes to a close, the industry celebrates its finest at the growing list of award ceremonies, and the industry airs out a collective sigh of relief. (Some) enjoy summer Fridays and the rest of us regain an appreciation for free time at night.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the joyful and touching musical, 'I Do! I Do!,' starring Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin and Drama Desk Award nominee Lewis Cleale, August 10 - 28, as part of its 80th Anniversary Season.

Transport Group, the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and 2007 and 2010 OBIE Awards, introduced segments of the New York premiere of See Rock City & Other Destinations, music by Brad Alexander; book and lyrics by Adam Mathias; directed by Artistic Director Jack Cummings III, this week. David B. Byrd joined Westport Country Playhouse as director of marketing, beginning July 6, responsible for all organizational marketing initiatives for the historic theater's five-play season and surrounding year-round programming.

Writers' Theatre opens its 2010-2011 Season with She Loves Me, by Joe Masteroff, Jerry Bock, and Sheldon Harnick. The production, directed by Artistic Director Michael Halberstam with musical direction by Ben Johnson, runs September 14 - November 21, 2010, at Writers' Theatre, 325 Tudor Court in Glencoe.

Westport Country Playhouse and Doncaster, a woman's apparel collection, will team up to celebrate their mutual 80th anniversaries with a 'Sample Sale Extravaganza,' on Tuesday, June 29, 6 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, June 30, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., in the Playhouse's Smilow Lounge on the mezzanine level.

It's that time of the year again for the recognition of some amazing up and coming talent on the theatre scene, specifically, the 20th Annual Kleban Awards. The Kleban Foundation is pleased to announce that the 20th Annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theater lyricist has gone to Peter Mills and the award for the most promising musical theater librettist has gone to Barry Wyner. The 2010 awards will be presented on June 21, 2010, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) at ASCAP.

The discussion will be led by David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director, and director of the production.
