ROCK OF AGES will soon become Hollywood's Biggest Party as filming recently began in Miami, Florida for the New Line Cinema Film. Directed by Adam Shankman, the film stars Tom Cruise as 'Stacee Jaxx,' Diego Boneta as 'Drew,' Julianne Hough as 'Sherrie,' Russell Brand as 'Lonny,' Alec Baldwin as 'Dennis,' Mary J. Blige as 'Justice,' Brian Cranston as the Mayor, Malin Ackerman as 'Constance Sack,' Catherine Zeta-Jones as the wife of the Mayor and Paul Giamatti as 'Paul Gill.'
To celebrate the one year birthday of SUBWAY breakfast, Robert Irvine, celebrity chef, author, and host of popular Food Network programs, Dinner: Impossible, Worst Cooks in America and Restaurant: Impossible challenged fans, including cast members from Rock of Ages, in a series of SUBWAY breakfast sandwich cook-offs to create the best customized and most flavorized SUBWAY breakfast sandwich. The Boomerang Theatre Company (Tim Errickson, Artistic Director; Sue Abbott, Managing Director), in collaboration with Big Fish Big Pond Productions, will present a workshop of the new musical LOVELESS, TEXAS October 29th-November 4th. LOVELESS, TEXAS has music and lyrics by Henry Aronson (Broadway's ROCK OF AGES) and libretto by Cailin Heffernan (Boomerang's VENUS OBSERVED, ANNA CHRISTIE). The workshop will culminate in a private industry only presentation on November 4th at The Peter J. Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). Heffernan will direct the workshop.
As BroadwayWorld has reported, Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis will perform for the last time as 'Drew' on Broadway Thursday, September 9 before headlining the First National Tour of ROCK OF AGES, debuting in Chicago on September 21. Joey Taranto will take over the role of 'Drew' at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street). Additional cast changes include Mitchell Jarvis playing his final performance as 'Lonny' on Sunday, September 5 and taking over the role of 'Stacee Jaxx' from James Carpinello, who will play his final performance on a date to be determined. Jay Klaitz, recently of Lend Me a Tenor, to begin performances as 'Lonny' on Monday, September 6. BroadwayWorld has learned that joining Maroulis on tour are Joey Calveri, Erika Shannon, Angela Brydon, Casey Tuma and Burn the Floor's MiG Ayesa, who will be assuming the role of Stacee Jaxx.
Real life New Jersey couple, 27 year olds Sharyn Krum and Paul Fontana, lived out their Broadway fairytale by getting married on stage at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre yesterday, August 9, 2010. They found common ground over their shared love of Rock of Ages and were married by the newly ordained, and their favorite, Rock of Ages character 'Lonny' (played by Mitchell Jarvis). The Broadway cast were guests at the ceremony and reception.
Last night, August 5, the ROCK OF AGES Broadway cast and members of the newly announced touring cast partied together at BB Kings in Times Square to live 80's tunes by Lipstick & Leather, in addition to additional rock band cover singers. Producers of the five-time Tony Award nominated hit musical, ROCK OF AGES announced that Josephine Rose Roberts will take over the role of 'Regina,' beginning tonight, Monday, August 2, 2010 at 8pm. Roberts comes to Broadway after playing the role of 'Regina' at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. She takes over the role from Lauren Molina, who played her final performance Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 7:30pm.

Broadway's ROCK OF AGES celebrated its 1 year anniversary on Broadway last night, April 6, 2010. In honor of the rock hit musical, Tony di Napoli's restaurant presented the cast with a portrait of its star, Constantine Maroulis, to be displayed on its famed wall. Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!
In a show of semi-permanent appreciation, ROCK OF AGES honored of one of its most dedicated fans and winner of its holiday 'Deck the Halls Extreme Rock' contest, Gavin Knox, this month. For the Christmas challenge, the production invited fans to submit a performance video of a holiday carol, sung in the rockin' style of the hit show. The winner was selected by ROCK OF AGES cast members, including Constantine Maroulis, Kerry Butler, and James Carpinello. The prize package included a pair of tickets to the performance, a backstage tour, a curtain call ovation, dinner for two at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, a copy of the original cast recording, and a Temptu tattoo, applied by the show's make-up artist, worn by the cast members on stage each night.
