Red Theater Chicago announces that its Jeff Award-winning production of The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity will receive a limited remount next month as part of the 2018 Theater on the Lake Summer Theater Festival. Written by Kristoffer Diaz and directed by company member Jeremy Aluma, performances will take place August 7-10, 2018 at The South Shore Cultural Center.

Red Theater Chicago is thrilled to announce its 2018-19 season of three productions, each keeping with Red Theater's mission to ask dangerous questions theatrically.

The Theatre School at DePaul University is pleased to present Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play, written by Anne Washburn and directed by Jeremy Aluma (MFA Directing candidate, Class of 2019), with music by Michael Friedman, in the Sondra & Denis Healy Theatre. The production premieres on Friday, January 26, and runs through Sunday, February 4, 2018. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on January 24 and 25 at 7:30 PM. Post-show discussions will follow the performances on January 28 (2:00 PM) and February 1 (7:30 PM).

The Theatre School at DePaul University will present The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico Garc a Lorca, translated by Jo Clifford, directed by Jeremy Aluma. Four Clowns' founder and former artistic director Jeremy Aluma has deftly infused his Four Clowns magic directing his contemporary version of the classic HAMLET just finishing its run at the Lyceum Theater. Eschewing Shakespeare's couplets and metrics, this normal-speak HAMLET could be in any time period where fedora-ed men wear three-piece suits and ties while women can wear baggy pastel-colored pants and a beret.

Jeremy Aluma, the Founder and Artistic Director of Four Clowns for the past seven seasons is stepping down as Artistic Director. Aluma will be moving to Chicago this summer to pursue his MFA in Directing at DePaul University.

American Coast Theater Company, the resident professional theater of Vanguard University, will perform its 2016 Summer Series, beginning June 3. The two plays, Hamlet and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead will be performed in repertory, in the Lyceum Theater on Vanguard's Costa Mesa campus. 

Four Clowns' world premiere of playwright David Bridel's LUNATICS & ACTORS wonderfully succeeds as a loving spoof of the acting process. It's to the credit of all involved that what could have been a five-minute Saturday Night Live skit has evolved into 70 minutes of enthralling wit and engaging artistry. Bad acting's truly an art; and to make the bad acting funny, genius!

2Cents's Acting Out INK Fest is back for its 3rd exciting year, organized by its Founding President and Artistic Director Kristin Boule. The Fest is being held for 3 days this weekend at the Hudson Theatres in Hollywood, right in the heart of Theatre Row and the LA 99-seat community. INK FEST 2016 features fully produced 1-act plays, ranging from 10-60 minutes, organized in themed-groups, featuring over 100 artists from playwrights to directors to actors and street artists celebrating the FEMALE PLAYWRIGHT and ART. A total of 21 plays by 19 female playwrights are being presented, with 19 directors and 49 actors. What's more, the festival will flood not just the theatre, but also the street & the Hudson Cafe, serving wine & beer all weekend long, with special events scattered throughout.
