Todd Mckenney And Rachael Beck To Star In New Australian Production Of BARNUM

BARNUM, one of Broadway's most treasured musicals, returns to Australia in an all-new spectacular production. From visionary director Tyran Parke, this new production of a favourite Broadway classic, originally starring Jim Dale and Glenn Close, followed by a London West End production starring legendary Michael Crawford will play an exclusive engagement at Melbourne's most intimate professional musical theatre venue, the Comedy Theatre for a strictly limited time from April 2019.

Bistro Winning-Carole Demas & Sarah Rice Star In Expanded Version Of THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE

This year, a living legend of musical theatre turns 90: Lyricist-bookwriter Tom Jones (who also, under a stage name) appeared in the original company of his most famous and wildly successful record-breaking musical, The Fantasticks. His collaborator, composer Harvey Schmidt, just recently passed away. The production's record-breaking run closed, on January 13, 2002, after 17,162 performances. Their shows also include 110 in the Shade, I Do! I Do!, Philemon, Celebration and many more. And celebration is what it's about when Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, return to celebrate Jones & Schmidt. Demas and Rice have based the show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Tom and Harvey. With very special guest Broadway's Hal Robinson who is also a Fantasticks alumni.

Artist Mel Chin's Animatronic Sculpture Officially Unveiled Today In Times Square

Times Square Arts, No Longer Empty and Queens Museum present artist Mel Chin's large-scale sculpture Wake and companion mixed reality piece Unmoored - developed with Microsoft - to explore a surrealistic experience of rising waters in Times Square. The works will be active July 11 to September 5 at the Broadway Plaza between 46th Street and 47th Street as part of Mel Chin: All Over the Place. Visitors will be invited to engage with the sixty-foot animatronic installation Wake, which evokes the hull of a 19th century shipwreck crossed with the skeletal remains of a marine mammal. Viewers can simultaneously explore the blending of physical and digital worlds in Unmoored through a Microsoft HoloLens headset (July 11-13) or their mobile phones. There will be a press opening event on Wednesday, July 11th at 1:00 p.m., after which the installation and mixed reality component will be open to the public.

Celebrate 100th Anniversary Of Polish Independence At Strathmore, Today

The National Philharmonic ends its 2017-2018 season at The Music Center at Strathmore with a musical celebration, '100th Anniversary of Poland's Independence,' today, June 2 at 8 p.m. at the Concert Hall at the Music Center at Strathmore. Conducted by world-renowned Polish Maestro Miros?aw Jacek Baszczyk, the concert will feature music composed by Poland's greatest musicians, performed by some of today's leading vocalists and musicians. The performance will commence with an introduction by the Ambassador of Poland, Piotr Wilczek. The 100th anniversary of Poland has significant meaning for the National Philharmonic, which is led by Polish-born Music Director and Conductor Piotr Gajewski. One of the National Philharmonic's veteran artists, Brian Ganz-who will perform at the Polish celebration concert-is also a frequent performer of Frederic Chopin, beginning a quest in 2011 to perform all of the great Polish composer's works. During this celebratory concert, Maestro B?aszczyk will lead the National Philharmonic Chorale, accompanied by Esther Heideman, soprano; Magdalena Wor, mezzo-soprano; Tyler Duncan, baritone; and the National Philharmonic in Krzesimir D?bski's Hussars' Polonaise and Karol Szymanowski's Stabat Mater and Mr. Ganz in Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21.  Ticket prices are $23-$76 and are free for young people age 7-17. Greatest Showman Singer Loren Allred Comes to PSO Gala 2018

Loren Allred, the singing voice behind Rebecca Ferguson's portrayal of the legendary Jenny Lind in the hit movie The Greatest Showman, lent a taste of Hollywood and impressive vocals to the Princeton Symphony Orchestra's "Puttin' on the Glitz" Red Carpet Gala held Saturday at Jasna Polana. Nearly 200 elegantly dressed attendees generously contributed to funds raised for the orchestra and its PSO BRAVO! education programs, particularly to continue the PSO's commitment to bringing the orchestra into the Trenton Public Schools.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus may be folding after 146 years in operation, but you can catch Moonbox Productions' loving tribute to its creator, P.T.
