SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, the record-breaking Broadway spectacular, held a Halloween safety press conference earlier today at the Foxwoods Theatre. Hosted by Spider-Man (Reeve Carney) and the Green Goblin (Robert Cuccioli), also in attendance were members of the "Sinister Six" and two members of New York's Finest. Spider-Man outlined the NYPD's official Halloween Safety Recommendations to remind parents and guardians of trick-or-treaters ways to help ensure a safe Halloween experience. As BroadwayWorld first reported, a reading is currently taking place for SOAP DISH THE MUSICAL, directed by Rob Ashford, with a book by Robert Harling, music by George Stiles and Lyrics by Anthony Drewe. The cast of includes Kristin Chenoweth, John Stamos, Jane Krakowski, Cristin Milioti, Anne L. Nathan, Michael Park, Miriam Shor and Daniel Torres. At this time there has been no formal announcement, or set timetable for the show. The reading is being presented by Laurence Mark, Donald De Line and Broadway Across America.

Yesterday, October 21, Grammy Award-winning, Tony Award-winning actress Audra McDonald was honored with a Pipe Night at THE PLAYERS. McDonald is the 100th recipient (since 1901) of such a night and the first since 2010 (Sir Roger Moore).

In the spirit of generosity and goodwill, the Grinch read Dr. Seuss' famed children's book, How The Grinch Stole Christmas! in front of twenty-five Garden of Dreams children and officially kicked off a charity book drive in support of the Garden of Dreams Foundation. The children also created two-sided Grinch masks as part of the Children's Museum of Manhattan's holiday programming that will be featured at the museum's dedicated-Grinch workshop exhibit, opening on October 20.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Director) in association with Scandobean Productions, LLC will present a new musical with book, music and lyrics by David Rossmer and Steve Rosen entitled The Other Josh Cohen. It will be directed by Tony Award-winning Ted Sperling, with choreography by Andrew Palermo and musical direction by Vadim Feichtner. The Other Josh Cohen will begin performances on October 10 and open on Sunday, October 21. It runs through November 11, 2012 only, and plays at the scenic SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street).
