Playwrights Horizons continues its 2018-2019 season of "topicality and risk" (The New York Times) with the world premiere of PEN USA Literary Award for Drama-winning playwright Larissa FastHorse's The Thanksgiving Play, October 12 - November 25 in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at Playwrights Horizons (416 West 42nd Street). 

Playwrights Horizons will, from today, October 1, through Thursday, October 4, accept entries for the Live for Five online lottery, giving out $5 tickets to the world premiere production of Larissa FastHorse's The Thanksgiving Play. Directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God and Present Laughter on Broadway), this side-splitting comedy satirizing the performance of contemporary white liberalism begins October 12 and runs through November 25.

Vanessa King and her project TWO ROADS was recently selected as one of PlayStation Emerging Filmmakers and was given the opportunity to create, write and produce a television pilot for PlayStation audiences. The pilot went live on Wednesday, August 29th and is available to stream completely free on all PlayStation platforms, and online, internationally.

TILTED WINDMILLS THEATRICALS (John Arthur Pinckard & David Carpenter) have announced that OVERHEARD AT JOE'S - the interactive, improvisational, theatre experience set in your local bar, created and directed by Christian Kelty - will open at McHale's Bar and Grill (251 West 51st Street) on Tuesday, May 22. Every performance includes a special musical guest; JunoSmile, the acclaimed Americana duo featuring Jessy Lynn Martens of TV's 'Archer' and radio host Joseph Martens, will be featured May 6-May 15. Michelle Shocked, the Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter, will perform May 20-May 29.

Performances of Bright Half Life begin at the Kitchen Theatre Company in The Percy Browning Performance Space on March 4 and run through March 18.

On Sunday, March 11, Hospicare and Kitchen Theatre Company are pleased to offer a special event: a reception and panel discussion on 'Lesbian Love & Loss over the Lifetime.' The reception will begin at 3:00 p.m., followed by a 4:00 performance of Bright Half Life by Tanya Barfield. After the performance, panelists Kate Halliday, Mariette Geldenhuys, Sue Robinson, and Carrie Stearns will moderate a discussion in the theatre.

This production is produced by THML Theater Company (Cagebirds, Where Angels Fear To Tread), a women-led company dedicated to engaging audiences with stories of women who survive and thrive.
