Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert visited students at Broadway Artists Alliance Alumni Session to share his journey from young actor to Tony Award Winner. Earlier this year, Ebert won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Mr. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical. Scroll down for photos from the event!

Last night, July 23, Idina Menzel & Taye Diggs were joined by Jenn Colella, Megan Hilty, Tom Kitt, Lachanze, Matthew Morrison, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Adrienne Warren for a karaoke night benefitting A Broader Way. In a last minute change: Nancy Opel has stepped in to replace Liz Larsen, who had to cancel due to illness. The cast and crew are so pleased and touched that Nancy was available and willing to step in just one day before the reading!

(UMC), in a collaboration with the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, has released a recording of three songs from the little-known 1947 musical comedy Barefoot Boy With Cheek featuring performances by Jenn Colella (Chaplin, Closer Than Ever), Max von Essen (Evita, Death Takes a Holiday) and Robert Lenzi (South Pacific, Hello Again).

Perfect Mothers plays at The Theatre at Studio Row, 410 West 42nd Street, (between 9th and 10th Avenues). The recent Off-Broadway revival of Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire's celebrated and cherished revue CLOSER THAN EVER has been preserved via cast album courtesy of JAY Records and a preview track of the new disc and digital download has been released.

SMASH and First Date star Krysta Rodriguez recently joined Broadway Artists Alliance to lead a master class. Rodriguez provided feedback to the students on their audition material and participated in a Q&A. Scroll down for photos!

The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents and marketing firms, presented the 3rd annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards last night, June 18th at Sardi's. The awards honor outstanding achievement in Off Broadway theater for the 2012-2013 season. BroadwayWorld was there for the ceremony and you can check out photos below!

(UMC), in a collaboration with the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, will record three songs from the little-known 1947 musical comedy Barefoot Boy With Cheek featuring performances by Jenn Colella (Chaplin, Closer Than Ever), Max von Essen(Evita, Death Takes a Holiday) and Robert Lenzi (South Pacific, Hello Again). UMC's recordings will be released for free digital download on the New York Public Library's website as part of its Musical of the Month blog series, which recently featured UMC's reconstruction of the Barefoot Boy libretto. The musical has never received a cast album.
