Brian Anthony Wilson, Tim Daly and More Set for DTF's Upcoming Season

A host of Broadway talent as well as several film and television stars will be appearing on the Dorset Theatre Festival stage this summer. Tim Daly, well known for his work on Wings (NBC) and Private Practice (ABC) will headline in the first production of the season, Theresa Rebeck's The Scene. Joining him will be Geoffrey Arend (ABC's Body of Proof) and well-known NY stage actress Mary Bacon (most recently seen in the Michael John LaChiusa/Sybille Pearson musical Giant as well as on Bway in Tom Stoppard's Rock 'n' Roll). They will be joined by newcomer Carolyn Holding (The Philadelphia Story/Chautauqua). Adrienne Campbell-Holt will direct the production.

BEARS Receives NY Premiere at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters welcomes Sans A Productions with the New York City premiere of BEARS, written by Mark Rigney and directed by Kristin McCarthy Parker. BEARS begins performances on Thursday, March 14 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 31. Press opening is Sunday, March 17 at 3:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday and Saturday at 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Tickets are $18 ($12.60 for 59E59 Members). TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Jenn Thompson, Co-Artistic Directors), the critically-acclaimed company 'dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit,' and named '2012 Company of the Year' by Terry Teachout of The Wall Street Journal, announces the cast and creative team for Happy Birthday by Anita Loos, the final production of the company's 20th Anniversary Season. Directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Scott Alan Evans, performances begin at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Tuesday, March 12th, 2013. Opening night is set for Thursday, March 21st at 7:30pm. Performances will continue through April 13th, 2013.

ONCE's John Tiffany and Stephen Hoggett Win SDCF's 2012 Callaway Award

On November 15th, the winners of the Stage Directors and Choreographers' Joseph A. Callaway award were announced at an intimate presentation at the SDC offices, attended by most of the finalists. John Tiffany, director and Steven Hoggett, choreographer each won the prestigious award for their collaborative work on Once, produced by New York Theatre Workshop.

TACT Announces LOVERS Talkback Tomorrow

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Jenn Thompson, Co-Artistic Directors), the critically acclaimed and Drama Desk nominated Off-Broadway company "dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit," has scheduled a post performance discussion with the production design team and cast of Brian Friel's Lovers, the first play of the company's 20th Anniversary Season, on Thursday, October 4th following the 7:30 p.m. performance. The designers will each share their thoughts on their concept for the show and how they collaborated with the director to bring his vision to the stage. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of the design team and cast. The discussion will be moderated by Scott Alan Evans, Co-Artistic Director of TACT.

York Theatre Company Hosts MAN WITH A LOAD OF MISCHIEF Concerts, 10/1 & 2

Continuing their "Celebration of Off-Broadway,' The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director), will present a staged concert production - similar in style to their acclaimed Musicals in Mufti Series - of the 1966 musical Man with a Load of Mischief, with music by John Clifton, lyrics by Clifton and Ben Tarver, and book by Tarver. Directed by Jenn Thompson with music direction by Bryan Wade, Man with a Load of Mischief will play three performances only, today, October 1 at 3:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, October 2 at 3:00 p.m. at The York Theatre at Saint Peter's. Casting will be announced shortly
