The Music Theatre Company (TMTC), Highland Park's critically-acclaimed Equity theatre, is pleased to announce the full casting for Triumph of Love, the first Chamber Musical of their 2013-14 Season. Triumph of Love runs December 6 - 15, 2013.

The Music Theatre Company (TMTC), Highland Park's critically-acclaimed Equity theatre, has announced its 2013-2014 season. The programming will feature a world premiere dance musical created and choreographed by Artistic Director Jessica Redish in June of 2014 and two musicals in the company's Chamber Musicals Series: Triumph of Love and Do I Hear a Waltz?.

TMTC's Mainstage production will be the world premiere of artistic director Jessica Redish's WITHOUT CONVERSATION: A NEW DANCE MUSICAL, which kicks off in June 2014.

Trout Lake, Washington. Running Deer Musical Theater Lab is hosting a series of week long new musical development labs this summer. Participating writers include Brian Yorkey, Nick Blaemire, Matthew Gardiner, Michael Kooman, Christopher Dimond, Tim Symons, Melanie Burgess, Bobby Cronin and Wade Dooley.

While regional theatres often lean towards staging Tony winning, crowd pleasing musicals, occasionally one may boldly look towards a show that is off the beaten path and lacks a trophy cabinet full of awards. Austin Playhouse has done exactly that with their current production of Triumph of Love and has unearthed a hidden gem of a show in the process. The New Voices Collective will present NEW VOICES, NEW BLUE: A Celebration of Songs by Yale Musical Theatre Writers, Past and Present on Monday, April 15, at 8:00 p.m. The concert will explore work by some of Yale's most exciting and famous alumni, as well as current composers in the Shen Musical Theatre writing program at Yale University. An amazing cast of Broadway's finest voices will include Drew Gehling (Jersey Boys, On a Clear Day..., The Minister's Wife), Jenny Powers (Its A Bird...Its a Plane...Its Superman, Donnybrook, Grease, Little Women), Sally Wilfert (Assassins, Make Me A Song, See Rock City), and Michael Winther (Laramie Project Cycle, 33 Variations, Mamma Mia, Songs From An Unmade Bed) and J. Michael Zygo (Once, Rock of Ages), and will also feature emerging talent from Yale's musical theatre performance program.

Deadline reports that Tony Award winning director Michael Mayer has signed on to helm the upcoming pilot HATFIELDS & MCCOYS for the NBC network. The project, created by John Glenn, is produced by Charlize Theron, Dawn Parouse Olmstead, Beau Flynn and ABC Studios.

'People who smile at nothing are capable of anything', claims rigidly proper Charlotte Bartlett (Karen Ziemba), cousin and ward/chaperone to Lucy Honeychurch (Ephie Aardema) in the world premiere musical whose book is taken from the novel by E. M. Forster and the 1985 Merchant/Ivory film A Room with a View. In 1908, Brits followed propriety to the letter; rules and regulations governed very closely the way they spoke and acted. So, when they traveled to Florence, Italy or anywhere outside of Britania, for that matter, as is the case in Act I, they carry their Baedeker or guide book and refer to it, as a religious fanatic would a bible. Now onstage at the Old Globe, San Diego, A Room with a View is a beautifully written and executed musical by Marc Acito and Jeffrey Stock with impeccably detailed staging by Scott Schwartz. It also boasts a phenomenal cast and magnificent art direction, with exquisite sets by Hedi Ettinger and period perfect costumes by Judith Dolan.
