The Music Theatre Company (TMTC), Highland Park's critically-acclaimed Equity theatre, has announced its 2013-2014 season. MAINSTAGE

Without Conversation: A New Dance Musical (June 3-22, 2014) - With a twist on a classic story set to contemporary music, TMTC Founder and Artistic Director Jessica Redish choreographs a world premiere musical told through dance.

Mainstage presentations are fully-staged productions at The Music Theatre Company. In the Company's intimate 95-seat space, existing musicals are given a fresh viewpoint and new musicals are given space to flourish.

CHAMBER MUSICALS SERIES

Triumph of Love (December 6-15, 2013) - In a romantic comedy driven by trickery and mistaken identity, Grecian princess Leonide conspires to win the affection of Agis, a secluded scholar of reason. Can she convince Agis to think with his heart instead of his head? Directed by Jim Beaudry, Triumph of Love is based on the 1732 Marivaux play Le Triophe de l'Amour and features music by Jeffrey Stock with lyrics by Susan Birkenhead, and a book written by James Magruder.

Do I Hear A Waltz? (January 31-February 9, 2014) - Featuring music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Do I Hear A Waltz? is a timeless story set in the enchanting city of Venice. Leona, a lonely American, experiences the love she has always dreamed of when she falls for the handsome Renato. Will the romance last? Directed by celebrated director Dominic Missimi, Do I Hear A Waltz? features a book by Arthur Laurents, based on his play The Time of the Cuckoo.

Musicals in TMTC's Chamber Musicals Series are often rare or little seen titles - performed in a concert setting, these presentations feature live music, some of Chicago's finest performers, and the full musical in its entirety.
