Jazz greats will be honoring jazz legends during Segerstrom Center's Jazz Weekend taking place October 7 - 9, 2016.

For Blue Note Hawaii, the state's premier venue for the world's most celebrated artists, July is heating up with music legend David Crosby, ground-breaking fusion artist, Robert Glasper, chart-topping funk and R&B singer Jeffrey Osborne and multi-platinum vocalist Joan Osborne.

?At the 20th annual Pell Awards, Trinity Repertory Company will honor local artists Len Cabral and Charlene Carpenzano with Rhode Island Pell Awards for Excellence in the Arts alongside previously announced honorees The Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis, Laurie Eustis and Elizabeth Chace. The awards ceremony and celebration will be held at Ochre Court on the Salve Regina University Campus in Newport, RI on May 23, 2016. At the 20th annual Pell Awards, Trinity Repertory Company will award Oskar Eustis and Laurie Eustis with the Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. Oskar currently serves as the artistic director of The Public Theater. Elizabeth Z. Chace, local businesswoman and philanthropist will be honored with the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts. Nominations are now being accepted for additional local honorees. At the 19th annual Pell Awards, Trinity Rep will award Debra Messing with the Pell Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Arts. John Chan, jazz promoter and owner of Chan's Fine Oriental Dining in Woonsocket will be honored with a Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts. Dancer and choreographer Julie Strandberg will receive the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts and Trinity Rep's former executive director, Michael Gennaro, will be awarded with the Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts. The ceremony will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 at Trinity Rep with a reception to follow at the Providence Public Library.

On Monday, June 30, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn in his regular series called 'Frank & Friends.' This particular show, 'Girls Night Out!' found Frank onstage with Broadway leading ladies Jackie Burns (If/Then), Teal Wicks (Wicked), Adrienne Warren (Bring It On) and jazz vocalist Jane Monheit (Jane Monheit's Jazz Party at Birdland).
