The Cast of HBO's BIG LITTLE LIES Continues to Grow

According to Variety, the cast for "Big Little Lies" continues to grow.The second season of the HBO drama is bringing back Kathryn Newton as Abigail Carlson, Robin Weigert as Dr. Amanda Reisman, Sarah Sokolovic as Tori Bachman, and Merrin Dungey as Detective Adrienne Quinlan. In addition, Newton and Sokolovic have been upped to series regulars while Dungey and Weigert will recur. Season 2 will also see the additions of Crystal Fox as Elizabeth Howard, and Mo McRae as Michael Perkins. Fox will be a series regular and McRae will recur.
ALIENIST Star Douglas Smith Joins Second Season of HBO's BIG LITTLE LIES

According to Deadline, actor Douglas Smith is set to join the cast of HBO's BIG LITTLE LIES when it returns its second season. He will play a new character named Corey Brockfield, who works with Shailene Woodley's Jane. He joins season two with the previously announced Meryl Streep. Producers Fox Stage Productions and Aged In Wood Productions have announced plans to adapt the blockbuster film WORKING GIRL into a Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winner Cyndi Lauper and book by FOX TV's 'New Girl' writer and Tigers Be Still playwright Kim Rosenstock. WORKING GIRL is based upon the Twentieth Century Fox motion picture written by Kevin Wade.

Anton Chekhov (1860-1904) wrote plays more character-heavy than plot-heavy, with unhappy Russians bemoaning their past and current plights. As a result, productions must be cast with actors who understand internal character motivation and insights (or lack thereof). Antaeus' latest production of a Chekhov play is "Uncle Vanya," (from 1898), in a West Coast premiere of the 2012 translation by esteemed American playwright Annie Baker, double cast as always (this one is The Mermaids).
