The Builders Association Brings Technical Wizardry to ELEMENTS OF OZ Tonight

Two-time Obie Award-winning The Builders Association brings their technical wizardry to the NYC premiere of ELEMENTS OF OZ, directed by The Builders Association director Marianne Weems and co-created and written by James Gibbs and Moe Angelos. ELEMENTS OF OZ began performances on Thursday, December 1 for a limited engagement through Sunday, December 18. Press opening is tonight, December 7 at 8 PM.

1812 Productions Presents THE CAROLS, A World Premiere Holiday Musical

1812 Productions continues its 20th anniversary season with The Carols, an original musical set in the small town of Picatinny, NJ during World War II. It's Christmastime in 1943 and the local VFW is empty. The community waits for their loved ones to return from foreign battlefields and no one is particularly interested in the Hall's annual performance of A Christmas Carol.

The Archives of La MaMa just launched La MaMa's Digital Collections Website (catalog.lamama.org). Its development was made possible by a generous 'hidden archival collections' grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources. The site, which premieres on June 27, 2016 as part of La MaMa's 55th anniversary season, is freely available for use by artists, scholars, educators, and the interested public. 1812 Productions to Stage Jennifer Childs' New Comedy I WILL NOT GO GENTLY

A rock 'n' roll queen returns for her crown in I WILL NOT GO GENTLY, a world premiere comedy written and performed by Jennifer Childs, running April 21 - May 15, 2016 from 1812 Productions. This play with music tells the story of fictional '80s rock icon Sierra Mist and the spirit of rebellion embodied in her music. Sierra has gone from top of the charts to middle aged obscurity, leaving behind a legion of fans for whom her songs were the anthems of their adolescence.

Tony Winner John Guare to Lead Discussion on Tennessee Williams at Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company

Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company will host a post-show discussion centered on the later work of Tennessee Williams following the March 5, 3pm performance of Tennessee Williams 1982. The participants include Tony-winning playwright John Guare, scholar and writer David Savran, scholar and current Tennessee Williams' editor Thomas Keith, and professor and writer Annette J. Saddik.

La MaMa to Present Heather Litteer's LEMONADE, 4/15-24

La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club will present the World Premiere of Heather Litteer's solo show LEMONADE, directed by Elena Heyman (Erin Markey's Deleted Scenes From Fun Home; Becca Blackwell's They, Themselves and Schmerm) for a limited engagement April 15-24, 2016 at The Club at La MaMa (74A East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 6pm. BWW Interview: Bill Dawes in NUREYEVS EYES at GSP

Broadwayworld.com interviewed Bill Dawes who will play Rudolf Nureyev in 'Nureyev's Eyes' at the George Street Playhouse. Directed by Michael Mastro, the show will be on the New Brunswick Stage from February 2nd through February 21st.

A classic Mabou Mines feat is to take a theatrical classic, reimagine it from top to bottom, then turn it inside out; the result is a production so spanking new that the original gleams with fresh and unexpected relevance. The tradition continues in a collaboration with Trick Saddle and the 45-year old company. The two companies combine forces in the world premiere of 'Imagining the Imaginary Invalid,' inspired by 'The Imaginary Invalid,' Moliere's piercing satiric take on the pretension, gullibility and vulnerability of we poor mortals. Presented by La MaMa, a production of Mabou Mines and Trick Saddle, the play runs January 21-February 7 at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre.

For the first time in two decades, The Kitchen will present a new edition of the acclaimed performance series And That's How the Rent Gets Paid, written by downtown legends Jeff Weiss and Richard C. Martinez. For three nights only (tonight, July 14, through July 16), Weiss and Martinez's thrilling serial drama, which follows a charming serial killer through the queer underbelly of New York City, will be brought to life by director and producer Brooke O'Harra with Kate Valk and Nicky Paraiso. The three-day marathon performance features an eclectic group of 50 performers including David Cale, Jennifer Miller, Keith McDermott, Becca Blackwell, Jess Barbagallo, Moe Angelos and Mark Bennett, among others. Weiss will appear in the production, in various cameo performances, throughout the three-day run.

1812 Productions to Present TO THE MOON

1812 Productions is pleased to present the world premiere production To The Moon, a modern comedy inspired by the life and work of legendary performer Jackie Gleason. Taking its cue from the great domestic comedy of The Honeymooners, and the sharp writing and physical comedy of The Jackie Gleason Show, To The Moon features an original script by Jennifer Childs, choreography by Tony Award winner Bill Irwin, and an integrated production design-sound, scenic, lighting, video-by Jorge Cousineau.

59th Annual Village Voice Obie Awards to be Held 5/19 at Webster Hall

The Village Voice, the nation's first and largest alternative weekly newspaper, announced today that esteemed critic and longtime judge of the awards, Michael Feingold, will serve as Obie Chairman for the 59th Annual Village Voice OBIE Awards, to be presented Monday, May 19, at Webster Hall.

Jill & Bobby Zarin Partner with Loan Company Suttons & Robertsons, The American Red Cross

Original Housewives of New York former cast member, Jill Zarin and her husband Bobby, welcome their new Upper East Side neighbors, Suttons & Robertsons, a UK based collateral loan company to NYC. Together, Jill & Bobby Zarin and Suttons & Robertsons are teaming up to do some good to help the disaster victims of Typhoon Haiyan. The famed NY duo's collection of 30 rare pieces of artwork by Al Hirschfeld will be sold off for Typhoon Haiyan Relief benefiting The American Red Cross. The Zarins will donate the profits from the sale of their artwork and Suttons & Robertsons will contribute an additional amount that together will be donated to The America Red Cross. Through the entitled 'Hirschfelds for Haiyan' program the Zarin's 30-piece collection will be sold in-store at Suttons & Robertsons starting January 6, 2014, when the NYC Suttons & Robertsons' flagship store opens.
