Tonight, November 5th at 7 pm, the Theatre at Saint Peters (Home of the York Theatre) Lexington Avenue at 54th Street will resound with the songs of Larry Kerchner ("Somewhere in Time") sung by some of today's most formidable singers: Headliner: Ann Hampton Callaway, Hilary Kole, Laurel Masse, Kevin Spirtas, Stacy Sullivan, Jeff Harnar, Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano, Karen Oberlin, La Tanya Hall, Sidney Myer, Raissa Katona Bennett, Jill O'Hara and a host of others. Musical Director is Tex Arnold. The event is produced by Sandi Durell.

At Jim Caruso's Cast Party this past Monday, October 22nd, there was an autumnal cornucopia of talent, with impromptu performances by two original cast members of Sophisticated Ladies, Terri Klausner and Ty Stephens. Check out photos of them and more at the concert below!

There may have been 40 cabaret performers strutting their stuff this past week at the 23rd New York Cabaret Convention at the Rose Theater at Lincoln Center, but the true star of the three-night extravaganza (October 17-19) was the late Donald Smith, the cabaret impresario and guru to the genre's luminaries, who died this past March at 79. Sponsored by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, which Smith founded in 1985, this year's Convention featured numerous homages to Smith from the performers, many of whom had their career's supported and advanced with the help of the colorful and beloved cabaret producer and promoter. Early in Wednesday's Gala Opening Night show, the 'first lady of the American keyboard' Barbara Carroll called her friend Donald Smith 'the quintessential New Yorker,' and when Mark Nadler closed night one with George and Ira Gershwin's 'Our Love Is Here to Stay,' he said, 'Everybody who cares about the myths of these songs are in this room tonight.' Well, it was clear that anyone who cared about Donald Smith was at the Rose Theater for at least one of the three shows.

Acclaimed international concert and cabaret artist Anna Bergman returns to Feinstein's at Loews Regency (540 Park Avenue @ 61st Street) tonight, October 15 and October 21, 22, 28 & 29 (8:00pm) with her show "You & the Night & the Music: An Evening of Musical Imports & Exports". This showfeatures her musical director and arranger Alex Rybeck, Jered Egan on bass and is directed by Jeff Harnar.

Andrea Marcovicci, the acclaimed singer and actress, has announced the release of her first CD of new material in five years, Smile, on her own label Andreasong. The new recoding her is based on her show of the same name that will be performed at New York's famed Cafe Carlyle from October 2 to 27 after hit runs in Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. The disc can be purchased at CDBaby.com and Marcovicci.com. The CD will also be available at live performances, starting with Andrea's final West Coast performances of Smile at The Gardenia in Hollywood on September 14 and 15.

On Monday, August 27, cabaret star Jeff Harnar took to the Broadway at Birdland stage with a new show, "Does This Song Make Me Look Fat?" The packed house included theater and cabaret stars like Elaine Stritch, Lilliane Montevecchi, Julie Wilson, Holt McCallany, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Klea Blackhurst, Billy Stritch, Clint Holmes, Natalie Douglas, Colleen McHugh, Faith Prince, Mark Waldrop, fashion icon Carmen Dell'Orefice, writer Gay Talese and Best Little Whorehouse songwriter Carol Hall.

Jim Caruso's Cast Party continues to pack 'em in at Birdland every Monday night at 9:30. This past week, August 20th, the 'extreme' open mic night was booked solid with spectacular talent. It was an evening filled with great music, fun folks, and so many laughs, all watched over by one of the ultimate New Yorkers, Mr. Tommy Tune. Check out photos from this week's show below!

The Broadway at Birdland concert series will present JEFF HARNAR in "Does This Song Make Me Look Fat?" on Monday, August 27 at 7pm. Musical Director for the concert will be Alex Rybeck, with Mark Minkler on bass and Ray Marchica on drums.

Performers and speakers who came out to show their respects included Jared Bortz, Mario Cantone, Dan Daly, Jamie deRoy, Julie Halston, Jeff Harnar, Linda Harris, Karen Mason, Susie Mosher, Sidney Myer, Lee Roy Reams, Richard Ridge, Steven Skeels and Todd Stockman.
