In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES star Christian Bale chatted about a previous gig- starring in the original movie version of Newsies back in 1992. Bale said of the new Broadway show: 'They're having the success our movie never had. I'm not really into musicals. But I wish them the best.'

The weekend honors instructors and teachers who are working to make a difference for their students and communities through the process of staging musical theatre productions in their schools and educational theatre groups. The teachers will attend special workshops led by director Jeff Calhoun, lighting designer Ken Billington, music director Kristen Blodgett, choreographer Lisa Stevens and scenic designer Tobin Ost.

On the same night that Jon Favreau came to see NEWSIES on Broadway, Joe Torre took his family to the Tony Award-winning production. Jeremy Jordan, a huge fan of Torre's and of baseball in general, was honored to try on Torre's World Series ring. Check out a photo of Jordan and Torre below!

Heidi Klum took in one of Broadway's hottest shows, NEWSIES, on Saturday, July 7th. After the matinee performance, she visited with the cast backstage, talking about Katie Holmes' recent taping of "Project Runway" while her children explored the 3-story set. The Broadway company of Newsies features Jeremy Jordan as Jack Kelly, John Dossett as Joseph Pulitzer, Kara Lindsay as Katherine Plumber, Capathia Jenkins as Medda Larkin, Ben Fankhauser as Davey, Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Crutchie, and Lewis Grosso, and Matthew Schechter alternating the role of Les. Newsies has just announced that they are seeking a standby for the leading role of Jack Kelly, additional 'newsies' and actresses to cover female tracks. Auditions will be held in person in New York City (please see specific information below). In addition, auditions will be accepted online for those performers who are unable to make it in person via an uploaded video to YouTube.

Newsies recently welcomed a special guest- 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Brave' star Kevin McKidd, who brought his daughter, Iona, to check out the musical. The duo posed with the cast after the show, and you can check out photos below!

The Carlyle Hotel welcomed 2012 Tony Award-nominee Laura Osnes in her cabaret debut at the Café Carlyle in an exclusive two-week engagement last night, June 19. Osnes will play through Saturday, June 30. Last night, former Anything Goes co-stars Joel Grey, Colin Donnell and more came out to lend support and BroadwayWorld was there for the photo op!
