Last night, stage and recording star Deborah Gibson and husband, Dr. Rutledge Taylor, attended a performance of Newsies to see Gibson's nephew Nicholas Lampiasi, who plays the role of Les, in the Tony Award winning new American musical.

JEKYLL & HYDE, the international musical sensation will return to Broadway in Spring 2013 following a 25-week National Tour. The tour launched at San Diego's Civic Theatre in San Diego, California on October 2, and stars Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis in the title dual role of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde, alongside Grammy Award nominee and R&B superstar Deborah Cox as Lucy. Anticipation for the revived and revised version Frank Wildhorn's acclaimed musical JEKYLL & HYDE is building in Houston, TX. The tour opened in La Mirada, California on September 7, 2012 and will be make a whirlwind stop in San Diego, California before coming home to Houston in October. To give me the inside scoop on this new Broadway-bound production, Constantine Maroulis, starring in the titular dual roles, chatted with me from La Mirada.

Prepare to experience The Nutcracker like never seen before as Flat Rock Playhouse, in partnership with Pardee Hospital and Pardee Hospital Foundation, presents the world premiere of The Nutcracker, adapted by Chase Brock from E. T. A. Hoffman's story The Nutcracker and The Mouse King onstage now through December 22 at Playhouse Mainstage. This new interpretation of the holiday all-dance classic is choreographed by Playhouse YouTheatre alum Chase Brock, choreographer of the Broadway hit, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. The all-new production of JEKYLL & HYDE will make its Philadelphia premiere for a holiday engagement on Dec. 26 - 30 at the Forrest Theatre. Calhoun first worked with Parton when he was cast as a dancer in the 1982 film version of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and recently directed both the US and UK tours of her Broadway musical 9 to 5.

NEWSIES, Disney's popular new musical about a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenage "newsies", will receive Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) Sixth Annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The honor is the only industry accolade of its kind and honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical. The award will be presented in the Actors' Equity Association Council Room, overlooking Times Square, on Tuesday, November 27, 2012.

Stop the Presses! From their home at the Nederlander Theater, the cast of NEWSIES performed 'King of New York' during yesterday's Macy's Parade CBS broadcast. For the first time ever, television audiences had the opportunity to see a number performed on the stage of the Nederlander, where NEWSIES plays to sold-out crowds.
