The Commercial Theater Institute's (CTI) upcoming 3-Day Producing Conference will take place April 20 - April 22, 2012. The 31st Annual 3-Day intensive features a panel of top Broadway producers offering practical information of interest to prospective producers, general managers, and investors.

Five time Tony® award-winning Broadway producer, Jon B. Platt, will be presented The Commercial Theater Institute's Robert Whitehead Award for "outstanding achievement in commercial theatre producing" at a reception at Sardi's on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. David Stone, Stuart Thompson, and Bob Wankel will present the award.

Rated P for Parenthood, a new musical comedy in its Off-Broadway debut now on stage upstairs at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street), welcomed its first marriage proposal following the evening performance on Wednesday, March 7th. Long Island resident David Troy joined the cast following the curtain call to call his girlfriend, Dellene Kornitsky on stage. As the audience applauded, Mr. Troy popped the question. Ms Kornitsky answered, "Of course!"

Jed Bernstein, President of Playhouse Productions and the Producing Director of Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) in New Hope, Pennsylvania, has announced the senior leaders of his producing team. The staff which will usher in the theater's reopening this July includes: Daryl Boling (General Manager), Britt Marden (Director of Marketing), Matthew Troillett (Artistic Associate), and John Vivian (Production Manager).

Midtown Direct Rep will hold a fundraising event to benefit the company during the opening week of Rated P for Parenthood, it was announced today. The Special MDR Off-Broadway fundraiser ticket will include prime orchestra seats to the Friday, March 20th 8:00 p.m. performance, exclusive talk back with the cast and the creators of Rated P, and a champagne after-party coach ride back to SOPAC with members of the cast, Ms. Rustin, Mr. Dobrish and producers who all call South Orange/Maplewood home.

Rated P for Parenthood began Wednesday, February 8 and officially opened last night, February 29, 2012 at the Westside Theatre. The company celebrated with a party at Southern Hospitality and BroadwayWorld was there to capture the excitement.

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP), the legendary and beloved theater in New Hope, Pennsylvania, announced its official reopening at a press conference today, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Bridge Street Foundation (Kevin & Sherri Daugherty, Founders; Tanya Cooper, President), Broadway Producer Jed Bernstein, and Bucks County Playhouse Conservancy (Peggy McRae, Founder). A local landmark that has sat empty since late 2010, Bucks County Playhouse has showcased some of Broadway's most recognizable talent since it opened in 1939. The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today the eight musicals selected to be part of the 23rd Annual Festival of New Musicals on Thursday, October 27 and Friday, October 28 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

Two-time Tony Award® winner James Earl Jones (Hoke Coleburn), Tony and Oscar® winner Vanessa Redgrave (Daisy Werthan) and four-time Tony Award® winner Boyd Gaines (Boolie Werthan) will star in the critically acclaimed production of Driving Miss Daisy, at the Wyndham's Theatre from 26 September until 17 December, with press night on 5 October. The play, written by Alfred Uhry and directed by David Esbjornson, enjoyed a record breaking sell-out run on Broadway until 9 April this year. Design is by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Jane Greenwood, lighting is by Peter Kaczorowski , music by Mark Bennett and sound by Christopher Cronin. Driving Miss Daisy is being produced in the West End by Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich.

The producers of Driving Miss Daisy have just announced on the Tony red carpet that the Broadway production will play a limited engagement in London for 12 weeks beginning in October with the Broadway cast, including James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines.
