The Guelph Chamber Choir is part-way through a search process for a new permanent Conductor and Artistic Director.  Two guest conductors will each have selected, rehearsed and presented a full concert with the choir before a final decision is made. Last fall, Patrick Murray conducted a concert entitled Haven: music of protection and peace.  Coming up this month, conductor Charlene Pauls presents Glory: music of light and joy on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 7:30 pm at St. George's Anglican Church.

For John Yates and his mother Dee, Good Friday means an annual pilgrimage to hear Handel's glorious oratorio Messiah at London's iconic Royal Albert Hall, performed by the Royal Choral Society - the choir has performed it at the RAH every Good Friday since 1876. This year John and Dee are celebrating an incredible 40 years of attending this annual Easter event.

The Cecilia Chorus of New York, Mark Shapiro, Music Director, will present the U.S. Premiere of Thierry Escaich's Messe Romane plus works by Fauré, Gounod and Messiaen on Sunday, March 4 @ 3:30 PM at Church of the Holy Trinity, 316 E. 88th St. The concert, directed by Shapiro, will be performed by (double) chorus and organist Bàlint Karosi.

Keitaro Harada To Make Debut With Berkeley Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony, and Memphis Symphony

The next three months hold debut performances for Keitaro Harada with four symphonies. February 1 and 2, Harada will step in for Berkeley Symphony's Music Director Joanna Carneiro as she awaits the birth of her fourth child. The program includes Faur 's Cantique de Jean Racine, Gordon Getty's Joan and the Bells and Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique. He, then, heads to Memphis Symphony to conduct E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Live in Concert followed by a quick trip to Japan for a return to Suntory Hall to conduct The Music of John Williams: Star Wars and Beyond with Tokyo Philharmonic. March holds his debuts with Fort Worth Symphony leading Disney's Fantasia: Live in Concert as well as with Louisville Orchestra leading Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf. He returns to Fort Worth in May for Raiders of the Lost Ark in Concert.
