On Monday August 31, Liz Lark Brown eked out a win in the exciting finale of the second annual 'MetroStar Talent Challenge' at The Metropolitan Room, beating out Danielle Grabianowski (the first runner-up) and Carole Bufford, who was chosen as the second runner-up. Brown, who, in a sweet twist of fate, was last year's grand prize winner Anne Steele's back-up singer, combined both understated charm and a flair for the dramatic that earned consistently high marks during the eight-week jury and audience-voted singers' competition. The two other finalists, who went head to head against the three top ladies, were the competition's highest-achieving men, Cornelius Bates, and David Gurland.

On Monday 10 quarterfinalists performed for a very live audience at The Metropolitan Room as week 5 of the 'MetroStar Talent Challenge,' an eight-week jury and audience-voted singers' competition, reached a rousing climax. The five semifinalists who will go head to head next Monday, August 17, are Cornelius Bates, Liz Lark Brown, Carole Bufford, Danielle Grabianowski, and David Gurland.

Jay Rogers, Lorinda Lisitza and David Brian Colbert will be in a reading of a new musical play at the Woodstock Fringe Festival based on the life and career of Julian Eltinge. The play is a part of the 'First Look' Series at the Fringe. This series gives audiences a look at works, as a reading, while they are still being written.

The TWEED Fractured Classicks Series presents original interpretations of great American plays and movies. This particular dinosaur emerged inthe early fifties and ran away with most of the season awards -including the Pulitzer!
