Uptown Players, a professional theatre group located in the Uptown area of Dallas, has announced its programming for the 2nd annual Dallas Pride Performing Arts Festival. From September 6 - 15, 2012, Uptown Players will present a 10-day festival of plays, musicals and cabaret acts celebrating Dallas Gay Pride.
The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today the eight musicals selected to be part of the 24th Annual Festival of New Musicals at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).
In a brief ceremony at the closing night party for the New York international Fringe Festival at The Gramercy Theater, winners of the 2009 FringeNYC Overall Excellence Awards were announced. The awards are selected by an independent panel of over 50 theater professionals.

Activist and performer Kathryn Blume will bring her new show, The Boycott, to New York's Arclight Theater for a six-week engagement. Performances will begin on Thursday, October 11 and will continue through Sunday, November 18.
