GLAAD Media Award nominated Theatre Askew (Bald Diva!) will present the World Premiere of I Google Myself, a new play by Jason Schafer. Directed by Jason Jacobs, performances begin previews June 14th at Under St. Marks. Opening night is slated for June 21.

The play "is the unusual story of three very different men with the same name. One is a gay porn star with a dirty little secret. One is a stoner mechanic who blogs poetry and has anger management issues. And another is a wily stalker with a balloon fetish, desperate to make a connection. Their worlds collide when one man Googles his own name to find others who share his moniker. What he discovers leads to an unforgettable, ripped-from-the tabloids chain of events that will leave you asking yourself: what would I do to become a top search term on Google?," according to press notes.

I Google Myself stars Reed Prescott ("Grease: You're The One That I Want" finalist) as the porn star, Tim Cusack, and John Gardner with lighting by Charles Foster, set by Robin Vest, costumes by Dan Urlie, and sound by Matthew Pritchard.

Jason Schafer is the author numerous episodes of Showtime's GLAAD award-winning "Queer as Folk." He also wrote the acclaimed screenplay to Trick starring Tori Spelling as well as scripts for ABC and Fox Television. His plays include The Macy's Account (San Francisco Fringe Festival) and Notes on the Land of Earthquake & Fire (Montana Rep). He holds a BA from UCLA and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU.
