Having lived a life that was as troubled and reckless as that depicted in his direct, emotional songs, he was a superstar by the age of 25 and gone with the Lord at the age of 29. In those four short years, he established the rules for all the country performers who followed him and, in the process, much of popular music.

The Harris Center for the Arts at Folsom Lake College is always adding new shows-always. Since the 2013-14 Season of Performing Arts was announced over the summer, a stunning array of new performances have been added to the mix.

The Coachella Valley's premiere theatrical venue, The McCallum Theatre, has added an exciting new array of offerings to its' already jam-packed upcoming seaon. Comedy, jazz, world music, country royalty, pop icons and first ladies of American song have been added to the roster of McCallum Theatre's 2013-2014 season. 'We are always looking to add performances with the broadest appeal to Valley audiences,' said Mitch Gershenfeld, President & CEO of the McCallum. 'We are pleased that several terrific shows became available after our subscription brochure went to press and delighted to add them to what is already an exciting and diverse season of world-class entertainment.'

It is a trip down country music's memory lane. In Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes, Jason Petty pays tribute not only to Hank Williams and his influence on country music but also to the stars who influenced Hank and those whom Hank influenced. These include Jimmie Rodgers, Roy Acuff, Ernest Tubb, George Jones, and more. Hank & My Honky Heroes will perform in Three Stages on Thursday, March 7, 7 pm; Friday, March 8, 2 pm & 7 pm; Saturday, March 9, 2 pm & 7 pm. Tickets are $29-39.

Craig Smith, Managing Partner of the new Alhambra Theatre & Dining, announced this morning that its current show, 'Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes' will be extending another week, to run through August 26 rather than August 19th. The show, which opened on July 24, has been steadily attracting bigger audiences. Smith wanted to accommodate the guests who weren't able to see the show during its scheduled run because of summer vacations and busy schedules.

The Zach Brown Band performed this morning on the Today Show. Blake Shelton is a coach on the wildly successful television program, The Voice.
