'The Odd Couple (Female Version),' written by Neil Simon and directed by Edith Weiss, is the eighth annual summer theater fundraiser for Senior Housing Options (SHO), a non-profit organization providing quality affordable housing and services for 500 adults in Colorado.  The production is SHO's major -- and only -- annual fundraiser and builds on the success of past runs such as 'On Golden Pond' (2014), 'Steel Magnolias' (2013), and 'Driving Miss Daisy' (2012).

Now onstage at the Candlelight Pavilion Dinner Theatre in Claremont, with a totally contemporary and fresh perspective, this Joseph under the direction of choreographer Alison Hooper really leaps off the stage and rocks the entire house...and the audience was composed of mainly seniors, which has a lot to say about dreaming...it's never to late to follow your dreams.

The Producers, a Mel Brooks musical, has been a favourite of mine since I saw the Las Vegas production years ago starring David Hasselhoff - who was surprisingly good, I might add! The show had been condensed into an hour and a half straight through which worked well in my opinion. The musical was adapted from the 1968 film of the same name and opened on Broadway in 1991, receiving 12 Tony Awards - a massive achievement by any standard. The 2005 film version was also very enjoyable and starred original Broadway cast members Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick.
