Eryc Taylor Dance Returns to Martha Graham Studio Theater Next Month

Eryc Taylor Dance (ETD) will return to Martha Graham Studio Theater, 55 Bethune Street in NYC for three days this October, with five works shown at each performance including the premiere of Eryc Taylor's new choreographic work, Cycles, commissioned by Douglas Sills of The Sills Foundation.

MULTISTAGES, in association with Dr. Judy Kuriansky and Jane Velez-Mitchell, is pleased to present a first look at  the award-winning musical, TEMPLE OF THE SOULS, co-written by poet Anita Velez-Mitchell, platinum-winning composers Dean Landon and Anika Paris,  and MultiStages Artistic Director Lorca Peress. Peress also helmed the production, with musical direction by Bruce Baumer, choreography by Enrique Brown, and visual design by Obie-winner Jan Hartley. TEMPLE OF THE SOULS is currently playing a limited engagement as part of the New York Musical Festival at Off-Broadway's The Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd St., NY, NY 10036). Performances began last night  Wednesday, July 19 and continue until Sunday, July 23. 

The Taíno's of Puerto Rico Will Be the Subject of a New Musical- First Listen!

New York Shakespeare Exchange (NYSX), a theatre company that boldly popularizes Shakespeare for diverse, contemporary audiences, is having its way with Shakespeare's comedy 'Much Ado About Nothing.' Ross Williams' timely adaptation, in which friends and rivals traffic in fake news to advance their agendas, takes up residence at Urban Stages, 259 West 30th Street, from tonight, February 17, through Sunday, March 5.

Girl Be Heard presents BLURRED LINES

The award-winning ensemble Girl Be Heard (girlbeheard.org), a nonprofit theatre company that amplifies the stories of young women, is pleased to present the World Premiere of BLURRED LINES, a revolutionary new show about the normalization of rape culture in contemporary society at HERE (145 6th Ave, one block south of Spring St, enter on Dominick St) February 9-19. Ticket information is available at here.org or by calling 212-352-3101. Running time is 60 minutes with no intermission, plus a 20-minute post-show talkback. This production is a part of SubletSeries@HERE: a curated rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support.
