T Schreiber Theatre's 5th Annual Schreiber Shorts Comes to The Robert Moss Theatre

T. Schreiber Theatre (TST) proudly presents The Fifth Annual Schreiber Shorts: An Evening of One Acts February 28th and runs through March 4th. The 10-minute play series will feature works by 8 playwrights, selected from an international pool of applicants. Curated and produced by Peter Jensen, Joe Lavezzo and Keelie Sheridan. Performances are Wednesdays-Sundays at 8:00pm and Saturday - Sunday at 3:00pm at the Robert Moss Theater (440 Lafayette Street, 3rd Floor). Tickets are $18- $22: tschreiber.org/productions

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHTS
CHARLOTTE ARNOUX has experience in acting, producing, directing, teaching and writing theater, so she likes to call herself a "theater person". Charlotte has a particular penchant for New Works, indie film and theater that tackles social justice issues. She is the Associate Director of GoodCapp Arts and the Founder and Artistic Producer of New York's FRIDGE Fest.

JOHN PATRICK BRAY has written plays under grants from The N.E.A. and Acadiana Center for the Arts, and has earned commissions from indie troupes in NYC and around the country. His full-length play, Friendly's Fire, ran in rep at Barter Theatre (LORT) in the fall of 2017. John has edited anthologies for Applause, and co-wrote the screenplay to the indie feature Liner Notes, which is available to rent or purchase on Amazon (dot) com. He is a resident writer for Rising Sun Performance Co. in NYC, and an assistant professor at UGA.

SHEILA COWLEY is a playwright and audio producer based in St. Petersburg, Florida. This season she's got three very different plays onstage - Flying, about women who flew US military planes in WWII, in upstate NY and Tampa Bay; Trio, for three actors and three movement artists in Austin TX; and the intimate drama Stay in Charleston SC. She's currently working on a commission for Tampa's GASP! Fringe Fest 2018 involving dance, story and science. Dramatists Guild, Chicago Dramatists Network, New Play Exchange. www.sdcowley.com

QUINN D. ELI grew up in the Bronx and lives now in Philadelphia. His short plays have appeared in Best American Ten-Minute Plays and been produced throughout the country. Longer works include the award-winning MY NAME IS BESS, produced by South Carolina's Trustus Theatre; CHASING WAVES, a comic fable developed at PlayPenn New Play Development Conference; and HOT BLACK/ASIAN ACTION, a satire about sexual and racial stereotypes that premiered at the New York International Fringe Festival.

PHYLLIS HELTAY is an award winning Canadian playwright and screenwriter. Her features "Nightshade" and "One of These Days" are in development with International film companies. Her play "Dashevsky and Lev" won the Ottawa Little Theatre One Act Playwriting Competition, and "How to Enjoy Fruitcake" premiered at this season's LowellArts Players festival, Michigan.

MICHAEL G. HILTON is an award-winning playwright who has had work developed and produced in New York, New Jersey, Luxembourg and Germany. A graduate of the Fordham Playwrighting Program, his plays include "Blue Sky Somewhere" at Manhattan Repertory Theatre and "Dance With Winter" which was a finalist for Best Original Script at the International FEATS Festival held in Luxembourg in 2014. He has had several plays developed and produced with the New English American Theatre in Stuttgart, Germany, where he lives with his wife. He won the Governor's Award for Best Play in the State of New Jersey for two consecutive years, 2004-05, for his plays "The Hollow" and "The Art of Stephanie".

MARY PORTSER has had short and full length plays produced or developed by Fishamble(Dublin, Ireland), Inspira To(Toronto, Canada), Judith Anderson Theatre(NYC), Ensemble Studio Theatre/LA, Pacific Resident Theatre(LA), Theatre West(LA)and the Seven Devils Playwrights Conference in Idaho. She is a recipient of the Otis Guernsey New Voices Award from the William Inge Theatre and the winner of the Los Angeles City College One Act Festival. Grainne was a finalist and Undertow a semi-finalist for the O'Neill Playwrights Conference.

JONATHAN SKINNER is a London-based playwright / screenwriter with some 50 short / one act play credits in the UK and internationally. Shortlisted for 2017 Kenneth Branagh New Drama Writing Award.
