Last night (17 March 20134) the six-time Olivier award nominated musical Once celebrated its first birthday in the West End, joining forces with the charity Oxfam specifically fundraising for their Mother Appeal. Also celebrating St Patrick's Day, the production welcomed their new cast led by Arthur Darvill, who joins the London production having played the role on Broadway. Per NewNowNext, Saunders, star of the hit British sitcom, opened up about the prospect of a 'FABULOUS' film, telling UK talk show THIS MORNING that: 'There isn't [a movie] but there will be. I'm close to picking up a pen, that' how close it is.”
Now according to the New York Times, Roundabout Theater Company, which revived the musical back in 1998, is planning to bring the show back to Studio 54 in early 2014. Composer John Kander revealed to NYT that a revival is indeed in the works, with Alan Cumming attached to reprise his role as the Emcee. Rehearsals are planned to begin in January 2014.
