Cincinnati Opera Presents OPERA IN THE PARK

Cincinnati Opera kicks off its 99th Summer Festival on Sunday, June 9 with a free concert in Washington Park. Opera in the Park will feature a selection of unforgettable opera and musical theater favorites-from 'Summertime' from Porgy and Bess to Man of La Mancha's 'The Impossible Dream'-performed by stars from the 2019 season, the Cincinnati Opera Chorus, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

BWW Review: THE CLEMENCY OF TITUS at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion

On March 2,2019, Los Angeles Opera presented Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's THE CLEMENCY OF TITUS (LA CLEMENZA DI TITO) in a production by Thaddeus Strassberger. Having directed and designed the colorful and monumental sets as well, Strassberger has achieved a major opus. Some scenes were played on the full stage and others on its frontal area with Greg Emetaz's projection of a Baroque painting on a curtain behind.

WNO Presents Ryan Speedo Green In Recital

Named for the groundbreaking African American contralto, the Marian Anderson Vocal Award recognizes a young American singer in opera, oratorio, or recital repertoire with outstanding promise for a significant career. Washington National Opera (WNO) named bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green as the 2018 recipient earlier this year and is pleased to present him in concert today, October 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. Tickets are $39.

Cincinnati Opera Announces Lineup for 2019 Season

Cincinnati Opera, today announced the repertoire and casting for Cincinnati Opera's 2019 Summer Festival, which will run from June 13 to July 28. The company's 99th season begins with a charming production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro in Music Hall's Springer Auditorium.

SPAC Strikes Deal to Broadcast Philadelphia Orchestra Concerts

As part of Saratoga Performing Arts Center's expanding artistic collaboration with The Philadelphia Orchestra, it announced a new partnership with public radio stations WMHT in upstate New York and WRTI in Philadelphia to record and broadcast four Philadelphia Orchestra concerts in Saratoga this summer. This new series is part of a reciprocal agreement between WRTI and WMHT and marks the first time in the Orchestra's storied 52-year residency that SPAC concerts have held a dedicated broadcast slot on WMHT and the first time that Saratoga performances have aired on WRTI in Philadelphia. The live performances slated for August 8, 10, 15 and 17 will be conducted by Yannick Nezet-Seguin, music director of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and will feature soloists Janai Brugger, the Jussen 'Piano Brothers,' Jennifer Koh, Serhiy Salov and Joshua Bell.

Lyric Opera Hosts EMPOWER an Original Opera from EmpowerYouth

Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Chicago Urban League's collaborative program, EmpowerYouth! Igniting Creativity through the Arts, is excited to present Empower, an original opera developed with local African-American high-school students. Tickets are $10-20 and are available here for the one-night-only performance, which will take place Thursday, May 31 at 7:00pm at the Lyric Opera House. 

Palm Beach Opera To Present Mozart's LE NOZZE DI FIGARO

Palm Beach Opera concludes the 2017-2018 mainstage season with a triumphant production of Mozart's poignant masterpiece Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), a new co-production between Palm Beach Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Opera Philadelphia, and San Diego Opera. The popular opera will have three performances March 23-25 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts at 701 Okeechobee Blvd.

Grant Park Music Festival 2018 Season Begins June 13

Chicago's Grant Park Music Festival Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Carlos Kalmar today announced a rich array of programming for the Festival's 2018 season, including a large-scale world premiere commission for orchestra and chorus by the Latvian composer, ?riks E envalds. Kalmar will lead the Grant Park Orchestra, along with Chorus Director Christopher Bell and the Grant Park Chorus, in a ten-week season, taking place from June 13 August 18 at Millennium Park's Jay Pritzker Pavilion and other venues throughout the city.

Free Concert STARS OF LYRIC OPERA Announced at Millenium Park

Lyric Opera of Chicago launches its new season with the 17th annual Stars of Lyric Opera at Millennium Park concert. Join us at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion on Friday, September 8, at 7:30pm. The free outdoor performance, presented in cooperation with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, annually attracts capacity crowds to the pavilion, great lawn, and surrounding areas of the park.

BWW Review: MOSTLY MOZART Opens with Totally Terrific Focus on Young People's Chorus

Well, no one can accuse Mostly Mozart of being in a rut. Even though the name of this season's first program, “The Singing Heart,” under Music director Louis Langree (heard on the 26th), is not so different from last year's opener, “The Illuminated Heart,” the two evenings couldn't have been more different. They did have one thing in common: They were both wonderful.

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival 2017 Announces Opening Lineup

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival , one of New York's premier summer performance series, kicks off its 51st season on July 25. Among the highlights in the first two weeks are a special opening concert led by Louis Langrée, Renée and Robert Belfer Music Director, featuring traditional and indigenous songs from Mozart's time; a choral presentation by Les Arts Florissants; and guest conductors Edward Gardner and Gianandrea Noseda; festival debuts by more than 10 artists, including Kit Armstrong, Janai Brugger, Jennifer Johnson Cano, S? Percussion, Beatrice Rana, Ksenija Sidorova, and the Young People's Chorus of New York City; and the New York premiere of David Lang's concerto for percussion, man made. Bernadette Peters Will Host Opening-Night Presentation of Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival

Broadway star Bernadette Peters, who currently appears in the Amazon hit show Mozart in the Jungle, will host the opening-night presentation of the Mostly Mozart Festival, The Singing Heart, on Tuesday, July 25, at 8:00 pm. Ms. Peters, a three-time Tony Award winner, will introduce this program, which celebrates the sense of optimism that emerged during Mozart's time, embodied in the composer's music and that of his contemporaries. The performance also features Renee and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langree leading the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, pianist Kit Armstrong, the Young People's Chorus of New York City , and soloists who join together for Beethoven's rousing Choral Fantasy.
