The Seeing Place Theater will present WAITING FOR LEFTY June 9 - 26 at ATA's Sargent Theater. Inspired by the 1934 Taxi Strike, this powerfully moving classic has become one of the most important plays of the modern American theater. Set in the Depression era and dealing with the cynical exploitation of the working classes, Lefty Costello (Joseph Mancuso) leads a group of disgruntled cabbies to fight for the rights they deserve.

The Children's Playhouse of Maryland, in residence at the Community College of Baltimore County, Essex, presents the uproarious musical comedy, Once Upon A Mattress. Performances are 1 p.m., May 9 - 10, 16 - 17, 23 - 24 and a special 4 p.m. performance May 17 and will be held in the 'J' Building Lecture Hall (J-137) at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard.

Tickets, which are $10 regular admission and $8 for birthday parties and scout troops, are available from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS. (Actorlist recipients under the age of 18 get in for $5.00 with a copy of Art Notes.)
