On Monday, February 29, 2016, the Broadway at Birdland concert series will be presenting Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens as a benefit concert. With music by Janet Hood, lyrics and additional text by bill Russell, the piece is comprised of songs and monologues inspired by the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt and Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology. The Groovy Projects (www.thegroovyprojects.com) celebrates their second annual Groovy Project's 'FUNdraiser' Benefit Monday March 30, 2015 beginning at 6:00pm at Therapy Lounge and Bar (348 West 52nd St, NY, NY 10019). 25 years to the day the film was released, HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL, the new stage adaptation of Daniel Waters' iconic 1989 dark comedy, made its New York premiere at New World Stages. Written by Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Laurence O'Keefe and Emmy Award winner Kevin Murphy, HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL is directed by famed stage and screen director Andy Fickman, with choreography by Emmy Award winner Marguerite Derricks. The third annual 'Night of A Thousand Judys' - presented by The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre - featured Maude Maggart(Entertainment Weekly's 'Must List'), Tituss Burgess ('30 Rock,' Jersey Boys), Rachel Shukert (Starstruck), John Early ('30 Rock') and Becca Blackwell (Untitled Feminist Show). An extremely limited number of $20 rush tickets to this year's star-studded BROADWAY BACKWARDS will be released for sale at 6:30 PM Monday, March 18, 2013. The rush tickets will be sold in the lobby of the Palace Theater (1564 Broadway). They will not be available at the box office. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, cash only and are limited to two tickets per person. The show begins at 8 PM.

As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, Broadway Takes Charge, a benefit concert directed by Trapper Felides, took over Le Poisson Rouge on April 16. The event was produced by Antonio R. Marion & Paul Burchette, with a portion of the proceeds going toward The Trevor Project. The event featured the stars of tomorrow, and the stars of today uniting together in a stand against bullying.
The Time Out New York Lounge at New World Stages will present a special Valentine's Day edition of Whistling Trixies, Saturday, February 11th, at the Time Out New York Lounge at New World Stages, 340 West 50th Street (between Eighth & Ninth Avenues). Doors open at 10:30pm. There will be a $5 cover charge to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
