DEATH BY DESIGN Begins 9/6 at Spark Theater

Spark Theater will present "Death by Design' on Fridays and Saturdays September 6th through September 27th at 985 Santa Fe Drive in Denver, CO 80204. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays September 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27 @ 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and are available online at www.sparktheater.org.

Cleveland Orchestra Presents Free Community Concert at Severance Hall Today

The Cleveland Orchestra announces a free community concert in which the Orchestra performs 'side-by-side' with members of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra (COYO). The concert will be given in Severance Hall tonight, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. and will be conducted by Brett Mitchell, who is in his first season as assistant conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra and music director of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra.

Cleveland Orchestra Announces Free Community Concert at Severance Hall, 4/18

The Cleveland Orchestra announces a free community concert in which the Orchestra performs “side-by-side” with members of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra (COYO). The concert will be given in Severance Hall on Friday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. and will be conducted by Brett Mitchell, who is in his first season as assistant conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra and music director of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra. Musical selections to be performed by The Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra are Shostakovich's Festive Overture, Michael Torke's Bright Blue Music, and two movements from Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique. Violinist James Thompson, currently a student of Cleveland Orchestra Concertmaster William Preucil at the Cleveland Institute of Music, will perform with The Cleveland Orchestra as soloist in Saint-Saëns's Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso for violin and orchestra. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra from 2005 to 2012. His positions in COYO included principal second violin, followed by concertmaster.

The artistic mastery of internationally revered artist Richard Diebenkorn will be presented in a premier exhibit at the College of Marin Fine Arts Gallery, Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, through Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, 835 College Ave., Kentfield, CA, Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The show is open to the public free of charge.

The Institute of Visual Arts (Inova) at UWM opens an exhibition of work by the artists who received the Greater Milwaukee Foundation's Mary L. Nohl Fund Fellowships for Individual Artists in 2010. The Nohl Fellowship exhibition opens on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Inova/Kenilworth, 2155 N. Prospect Ave.

Concern Worldwide Holds Annual Women of Concern Brigid Awards 2/25

Concern Worldwide will hold its annual Women of Concern Brigid Awards luncheon on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, 1 West Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL. The 2011 Women of Concern Brigid Awards luncheon honors three outstanding Chicagoland women for their exceptional achievements.
