Musical Theatre Artists of Pittsburgh, the group becoming better known simply as MTAP, announces both the shows and cast for Hot Metal Musicals, the inaugural showcase of members' work.
Musical Theatre Artists of Pittsburgh is pleased to announce Hot Metal Musicals, the group's first ever showcase of new musical theatre work. Hot Metal Musicals will feature the work of member writers, composers and lyricists and will also include work by special guest artists with ties to Pittsburgh. Free and open to the public, the showcase will be presented in cooperation with the Pittsburgh CLO on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 7:15pm at the CLO Cabaret Theater at Theatre Square, 655 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
MTAP-Musical Theatre Artists of Pittsburgh is asking musical theatre artists and songwriters to submit their new musical theatre work to MTAPgh@gmail.com by August 1 to be considered for its inaugural showcase "Hot Metal Musicals." The showcase, planned for early 2015, aims to raise the profile of new musical theatre work developed by current and prospective MTAP members.

Initiated by Erik Schark, under the guidance and advice of Stephanie Riso - co-founder of Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre currently in its 17th season, and Cabaret Pittsburgh which operated 2004-2008, the group is now led by Stephanie Riso with managing leadership by Jeanne Drennan and the advisory role now filled by Steve Cuden, author of the new book Beating Broadway: How to Create Stories for Musicals That Get Standing Ovations.
