The Gotham Film & Media Institute announced today the nominations for the 31st Annual Gotham Awards, singling out 29 feature films, 16 series, and 32 performances for recognition in twelve award categories. 'Passing' and 'The Lost Daughter' led this year's nominations.

The nominees were chosen by a unanimous vote of 19 jurors from over 1,300 entries from television, podcasts/radio and the web in entertainment, news, documentary, arts, children’s/youth, public service and multimedia programming.

Sundance Institute announced today that Jason Blum, Ebs Burnough, Lynette Wallworth and Lisa-Michele Church will join the Institute's Board of Trustees. Critically-acclaimed actors Andr Holland and Phylicia Rashad visit 92Y's Unterberg Poetry Center on Thursday, May 23 at 7:30 pm for a dramatic reading of Toni Morrison's new book, The Source of Self-Regard: Selected Essays, Speeches, and Meditations. The actors will read selections of the book curated by Morrison scholar and Columbia University professor Farah Jasmine Griffin, which 92Y has commissioned for the event.
