The song is woven vividly into American history – not only as the celebrated anthem of the American Civil Rights Movement of the late 1950s and 1960s, but also as a protest song in the earlier labor movement. Both the history and message of the song resonated with Dropkick Murphys, longtime champions of the downtrodden and the working class.
The release will feature three bonus tracks including the band’s poignant rendition of “We Shall Overcome.” Previously released B-sides, the cover songs “James Connolly” (by Larry Kirwan) and “The Bonny” (by Gerry Cinnamon), are also included in the expanded edition, which will be available in both stereo and 3-dimensional Dolby Atmos mixes.
This year's Eagle-Con, a virtual sci-fi and fantasy conference hosted by Cal State LA and the Art Directors Guild (IATSE Local 800), will honor concept artist and set designer Dawn Brown, graphic novelist and comics scholar John Jennings, science fiction and fantasy writers Jaymee Goh and K. Tempest Bradford, and the 501st Legion.
The U.S. trek--which was originally scheduled for May of 2020--runs from August 10 – October 16 and will also feature festival appearances by Dropkick Murphys and Rancid at Riot Fest in Chicago on September 18 and Aftershock in Sacramento on October 8.
Turn Up That Dial, released April 30 via the band’s own Born & Bred Records, is Dropkick Murphys’ tenth studio album, and fourth consecutive Billboard top 10 album debut, joining 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory (2017), Signed and Sealed in Blood (2013), and Going Out In Style (2011).
Dropkick Murphys’ new album, Turn Up That Dial, is available today, via band-owned Born & Bred Records. Produced by Ted Hutt, Turn Up That Dial is the band’s 10th full-length studio album. Dropkick Murphys celebrate the simple pleasure of music, the relief and release from worry that comes when you “turn up that dial” and blast your troubles away.
Instead of charging for tickets to the Turn Up That Dial Album Release Party Free Live Stream Concert, the band will “pass the virtual hat” to take donations to help support their efforts to keep paying their employees, and a portion of donations will go to charity as always.
“Queen Of Suffolk County” follows the album’s tongue-in-cheek single “Middle Finger”, which was recently released, accompanied by a Kes Glozier-directed video shot in London just before the band’s last show prior to the pandemic.

On a lifelong quest to find a legendary empire of mythical giants, Amazon expedition leader James Lynch and navigator René Delmotte return to the jungles of Peru in the Travel Channel premiere of “Lost Amazon: Project Z” on Tuesday, October 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. In the hour-long special, the renowned adventure-seekers, joined by field scientist Marsh Mokhtari, journey deep into the mountains and uncover a remarkable lost civilization buried under a canopy of tropical forest. With the use of the latest drone-mounted LiDAR technology (laser light beams that penetrate layers of the forest canopy to generate a 3-D map of the surface), the team has mapped out an enormous city that is much larger than even the locals realized because most of it is hidden by the jungle.
