Review - Being Audrey: Oh, To Be A Movie Star

While the new musical by James Hindman (book) and Ellen Weiss (score) appears to be a promising work in progress, Transport Group's premiere production of Being Audrey, helmed by the company's Artistic Director Jack Cummings III, is loaded with bright, shiny charms that display their material in a dazzling little jewel box.

In keeping with the East Meets East Initiative, the Lower East Side Business Improvement District (LES BID) and Fourth Arts Block (FAB) partnered with Transport Group Theatre Company, winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and a 2007 Obie Award, to promote local business during the company's world premiere production of the Off-Broadway musical, Being Audrey.

The Award-winning Broadway musical Mary Poppins and ADVENTURES BY DISNEY, a leader in guided family vacations, partnered to celebrate the show's historic 1000th performance at the New Amsterdam Theatre on Thursday April 9th. To a shower of confetti following the curtain call, the Moore family of Marlboro, NJ were brought on stage, visibly moved, as Thomas Schumacher, producer and president of Disney Theatrical Productions, presented them with a 6-night/7-day vacation to London and Paris.

Dominick Dunne Lends 'Voice' to Transport Group's 'BEING AUDREY'

Transport Group, the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and a 2007 Obie Award, has announced that celebrated journalist, novelist, and producer Dominick Dunne will provide voice-over narration for the world premiere musical, Being Audrey, which begins performances Friday, March 27, at 8pm at 220 East 4 Street, between Avenues A and B. The opening is set for Sunday, April 5, at 3pm.

Transport Group Delays First Preview of BEING AUDREY, Now Begins 3/28

The production has delayed its first preview originally planned for tonight, Friday 27th, the show will now begin on Saturday, March 28th to allow the company an extra amount of rehearsal time, stated a Transport Group spokesperson.
