Only Make Believe (OMB), the New York City and Washington D.C. based non-profit organization that brings laughter and imagination to children suffering from chronic illnesses and disabilities, will be joining Bloomberg's agency broker, Bloomberg Tradebook, on its Second Annual Charity Day on October 17th, 2013 in New York City.

The recent release of a list of the 100 greatest musicals of all times has brought about much controversy in the theatre community. Though there has been conflict created by the plays on the list, there was no controversy over who was the best composer. Stephen Sondheim was the only writer/lyricist/composer who had five selections in the top sixteen. GYPSY placed number one, SWEENEY TODD 3rd, WEST SIDE STORY 8th, COMPANY 15th and SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE was 16th.

Only Make Believe, the New York City and newly, Washington D.C., based non-profit organization that brings laughter and imagination to children suffering from chronic illnesses and disabilities will be hosting their first ever SPiN OUT OF SPRING event, an extravaganza for young professionals and the young at heart on May 3rd at SPiN: NYC from 7:00pm-9:30pm. The evening will include a ping-pong tournament, music, complimentary beer/wine, silent auctions, special guests, and more! Dena Hammerstein, Founder of Only Make Believe and the President of James Hammerstein Productions along with Actor Sir Ian McKellan were on-hand at the Empire State Building for a lighting ceremony on Monday, November 1st in anticipation of the Only Make Believe Gala later that evening. The Empire State Building, the world's most famous office building, glowed brightly in the colors of Only Make Believe - purple, blue and yellow - in celebration of their 11th Anniversary.

Hosted by Sir Ian McKellen, last night, November 1, the Only Make Believe Gala featured a number of performances including the casts of Memphis, the Cast of Billy Elliot: The Musical, and others. Also on-hand was Josh Lucas, James Wesley, Brad Oscar, Matthew Settle, Seth Rudetsky, The Glamazons among others.
