Warner Bros. has announced that New Line's Sopranos prequel, Newark, will open on September 25, 2020, according to Deadline.

The Off-Broadway and West Coast hit, The Bench written by and starring Robert Galinsky, directed by Jay O. Sanders, has partnered with The STAGE Network for a live filming of the play taking place at The Triad on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 beginning at 12pm, tickets are FREE an available at EventBrite.com.

Redhouse Artistic Director, Hunter Foster, has announced his inaugural, 2019-20 Main Stage Season featuring several Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning productions, packed with heart, humanity, and humor, and sure to delight audiences of all ages. The theme of the season will be 'the exploration of family and how its different forms navigate the spectrum of the American experience.' Hunter Foster, who was named '2018 Director of the Year' by the Wall Street Journal, will oversee all aspects of the entire season including, budgeting, casting, directing and more. Redhouse audiences will be treated to a much more immersive theatre experience as Foster plans to utilize the versatility of the theatres to create different audience configurations including a 'thrust space' and 'theatre in the round.'

The son of the late James Gandolfini, Michael Gandolfini, will play the young Tony Soprano in 'The Sopranos' prequel movie, according to Variety.

Sources tell Variety that Alessandro Nivola is in talks to star as Dickey Moltisanti in "The Many Saints of Newark," the 'Sopranos' prequel film, according to Variety.

The Kennedy Center today unveiled an all-star lineup and new producers for the 21st annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, which this year will celebrate Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Under the direction of the creative team from Done + Dusted, the Kennedy Center's new producing partner for the Mark Twain Prize, the cast will feature many of Louis-Dreyfus's admirers, friends, and collaborators, including Stephen Colbert, Bryan Cranston, Tina Fey, Ilana Glazer, Tony Hale, Abbi Jacobson, Keegan-Michael Key, Kumail Nanjiani, and Jerry Seinfeld. The live Gala Performance will take place on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. ET in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, and will be taped by WETA Washington, D.C.

According to Variety, the previously announced film prequel to the HBO crime drama series The Sopranos, has found its director in Alan Taylor, a veteran director of the series.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will present the 21st annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor to Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. The Prize, which is named to honor one of the world's greatest humorists, will be given at a gala performance featuring some of the biggest names in comedy. This year's ceremony marks the 21st consecutive year that the Kennedy Center's marquee comedy award will be presented and broadcast nationally. According to Variety, 'The Sopranos' is receiving a movie prequel developed by New Line. The projects is titled 'The Many Saints of Newark' and written by David Chase, creator of the original series on HBO.
