The creative team and cast of Repertory Philippines' 76th theater season finale, Mel Brooks' Tony Award-winning musical comedy "The Producers," met with the press earlier today.

A long delayed follow-up to 2009's N.O.A.H. (No Ordinary Aquatic Habitat), Trumpets' new production 'The Bluebird of Happiness,' a musical adaptation of Maurice Maeterlinck's play of the same name, featuring music by Rony Fortich and book and lyrics by Jaime del Mundo, tells a story set on Christmas Eve, at the height of the frustration of siblings Mytyl and Tyltyl over not having the material things they think would make their lives better. It is a scene that is familiar not only among children but even adults. Mytyl and Tyltyl's frustration is a reminder of lives that are driven by making ends meet or by achieving material wants that makes us lose sight of the very things that should have made us happy in the first place.

As an early Christmas gift, Trumpets, Asia's first professional gospel theater group, known for original Filipino musicals such as 'First Name' and 'Little Mermaid'--shows with strong moral and spiritual messages--brings to Meralco Theater another family-centric production, 'The Bluebird of Happiness,' which runs until Sunday, October 20.

Seasoned thespians Lynn Sherman ('The Lynn Sherman Show,' 'Rent'), Robie Zialcita ('Peter Pan,' 'Sweeney Todd') and Joel Trinidad ('Defending the Caveman,' 'The Graduate') lead the cast of theater company Trumpets' new original musical, 'The Bluebird of Happiness,' based on Belgian playwright Maurice Maeterlinck's 1908 play 'The Blue Bird.'

Carlo Orosa ('Honk!,' 'NOAH'), Robie Zialcita ('Bluebird of Happiness,' 'Rivalry'), Topper Fabregas ('The Maids,' 'Boeing, Boeing') and Giselle Tongi-Walters ('Piaf,' 'The Vagina Monologues') will star in Repertory Philippines' 76th theater season final offering, Mel Brooks' 'The Producers.'

'Stages of Love'), has just released the new musical's first video teaser.

Pinky Marquez (Mrs. Robinson), Reb Atadero (Benjamin Braddock), and Cara Barredo (Elaine Robinson) star in Repertory Philippines' 76th season third offering, 'The Graduate,' a film-to-stage adaptation by Terry Johnson, playing at Onstage Theater, Greenbelt 1 until Sunday, April 28.

During Act One of 'The Graduate,' Benjamin Braddock exclaims brattishly that his father and everyone his father knows are grotesque. We think there couldn't be a more appropriate description to what follows in the next hour of the play.
