The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts will host the world premiere of the new public TV documentary STEVEN CARAS: SEE THEM DANCE on February 24. Presented by Arizona PBS, the film concerns the life and work of Mr. Caras, a former New York City Ballet dancer, who transformed his career to become one of the world's most renowned dance photographers. Currently a resident of West Palm Beach, Caras is also a published author, guest lecturer, ballet master and founding chairman of the Randolph A. Frank Prize for the Performing Arts in Palm Beach. Its production history began in 1999 at Highways in Santa Monica starring the author, and under David Schweizer's direction continued at The Tiffany Theatre in West Hollywood produced by Paula Holt & Eileen T'Kaye. It subsequently played at Theatre 150, Ojai, at The Evidence Room, LA, at Santa Fe Playhouse, New Mexico, Off-Broadway at the Rattlestick Theatre (adding Suzi Dietz to the producing team), and finally at the Lavender Footlights Festival in Miami. The current production marks the debut of Harry Hart-Browne in the role and the first time an actor other than the playwright has assayed the role.

On April 19, 2010 the National Dance Institute will honor Harry Belafonte at their 33rd annual gala, at the NOKIA Theatre Times Square beginning at 6 PM. The evening's festivities will be emceed by Terrence Mann. In addition to performances by NDI dancers, Allegra Kent, George S. Irving, and Isaiah Sheffer will perform Aesop's Fable, The Lion and the Mouse. The evening will also honor director and producer James D. Stern. Proceeds benefit National Dance Institute.
